Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I could see it. He brought over a few actors from the Mist. And I hear on set, it's rough.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Probably how they become totally unlikable. Did Sophia voice her loyalty too? :lol

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Btw mister, I want you to rematch just the first 3 episodes of season 1. Report back to me on Dales involvement. :D

Hey straight up beheaded a walker in the forest. (the one eating the deer Daryl was hunting)

If I remember correctly, he screwed that up too. Didn't Daryl have to kill the head with an arrow? :D

No sir :D it's from episode "Tell it to the Frogs" They all beat the walker to the ground and then Dale takes an axe and WHAMMO! Head clean off. :lecture

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I wonder if you poll the comic readers vs. new fans what the 'like ability' rate for Dale is. Pretty sure Comic readers want him to stay around. I read the book but in this tv universe I can't stand Dale. Don't like him. He's threatened by the realities of the world and can't adjust. He's holding on to a humanity that doesn't exist. This new world is the old west. Which is why the scene at the end was in a saloon and included a stand off/ gun draw battle. Plue the country track that kicked in. It's really a brilliant way to show which RICK is gonna have to show up if he means to keep his people alive.

I love Shane. He's a realist. A pragmatist. and a bad ass. I'd love to see Rick come back and say "you were right" Even herschel's coming around. Dale not so much.

Plus I'm not worried about the show deviating so much from the books either... Robert Kirkman is still helping the ship.

Yeah, he cuts the head off, but Daryl has to "kill" it with an arrow to the brain - so technically he still has not killed a walker yet onscreen. :lol

I give him credit for using the axe, but the head was still alive.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I would trust Shane to have my back in a fight, but I wouldn't trust him to have my best interests at heart, .

Only if someone else was watching - he's shown that he's exactly who you DON'T want at your back in a fight - ask Otis.

And that thing with Lori - all the good writing in the episode and series is completely undermined by this incredibly stupid plot development. There was absolutely no motivation for her to get in a car and go to town.

I was totally thinking this, Ask Otis how well it turned out for him to have Shane watch his back.....:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

and Lori, I think she was so worried about Shane she needed Rick there,

:lol Good point.

I guess I was approaching this from Rick's perspective. As long as Shane knows you, he will do right by you unless it interferes with his intentions, which is where the part of him not having anyone else's best intentions comes in.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

If it was him or you and he was your buddy, I'd still think he'd sacrifice you for himself.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

If it was a choice between Shane or Dale at my side, I'd choose Shane. With Dale you would never have a chance to survive as he would probably try and talk some humanity back into the walkers. With Shane you would at least have a fighting chance.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'd choose Dale. It's good to know the person with you won't shoot your face off.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

^ Shane almost shot Rick in the face.

Almost. What's a gaze down the iron sights between friends? Heh.

I'd choose Dale. It's good to know the person with you won't shoot your face off.

I think I'd agree. Shane's a better shot, and definitely better in a fight ... but I'm pretty sure I could outrun Dale.

You wouldn't happen to know what that "country track" was? (the one after the gunfight at the OK corral)

I'm not sure Shane is a realist. I think he's trying to be a realist ... but he's kinda losing it. Sort of a "Heart of Darkness"/ "Apocalypse Now" kinda thing ... going insane in the midst of insanity. I'm fine with realism. But, realistically, picking fights with the living isn't all that good an idea when the living are outnumbered by the dead.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Anyone else think Norman was horrible in this episode? That was easily the worst piece of acting he's done for the show, Horrible lines too. So forced.
