Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I think things will potentially be heating up soon... I'm hoping Lori's comment about all the shooting attracting others comes to play, would love to see another "herd" scene....

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

If the spoilers I have read are true, then the action will be increasing a lot over these last five episodes. Shocking things happen. :panic:

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Instead, I'd like to see the team on-the-move. Losing members. Finding and adding new members. They've got cars but they've decided to hole up at the farm...for too long now. The boy is fine. Move on..

The farm has shelter, food, water and is fairly defendable. Yep, makes sense to leave and hit the road.:slap

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Im not really complaining, I still watch the show and I love watching it,
Is pretty much one of the only shows on tv that are worth watching, I mean, this against reality tv Completely wins, hands down.

Im just thinking, even if they don't kill any zombies, they should not make some scenes longer than they need to be, or as boring, I have not read the novel so I am completely unaware if the story is this way, and is cool, I don't wish for more zombie killing, but at least something else than the long draggy scenes

:goodpost::exactly:

They are telling a story of survivors looking for a safe place to stay. They accomplished that goal by stumbling onto Herschel's farm - a relatively safe haven in the world they now live. Why would they leave it? Because all the ADD riddled viewers get bored with the same scenery? Go watch another show then because this show is never going to satisfy someone who is looking for continual action and changes of scenery. If you read the books then you would know that this series is about the characters and their development and not about constant action with zombie fights/chases etc. There are spans of numerous issues where a zombie is never even seen!

All the characters have grown/changed considerably since arriving at the farm. Rick, Shane, Andrea, Carl, Daryl, and Glenn have changed a lot. Just go back and watch the first episode of this season and then re-watch the last episode to see the differences.

I understand that they are at the farm for safety and I expect that they will be at the farm for the entire season. I would really like to see more character development take Lori for example I don't particularly like the character but I want to, and what about Dale I really like his character. I would love to see some changes in their characters it seems like they drag the show with filler scenes that involve Lori,Dale, and T-Dog.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I think the problem is the audience.

They want a blood and guts zombie show, story be damned. But fortunately they are the minority.

I think it's less about blood and guts, and more about not wanting to see the exact same surroundings week after week after week after week. Just because people don't want to see the same open fields every week for an entire season doesn't necessarily mean they are ADD riddled gore hounds.

Sorry, but I don't recall people complaining about Family Ties or Seinfeld or just about 99.9999% of shows on TV for being in the same surroundings week after week after week after week.

Just because people don't want to see the same open fields every week for an entire season doesn't necessarily mean they are ADD riddled gore hounds.

Funny, I don't recall referring to anyone as ADD riddled gore hounds. :dunno

What I did say was that some posters give me the impression that they prefer fast paced gore to character development and a storyline with longevity. Keep your hyperbolic assumptions about my opinion to yourself. Mmm kay?

Well, that seems like a roundabout way of saying the same thing, but whatever. If the writers need their characters to stand still in order to develop them, then they shouldn't be surprised when people complain that the show is dragging, and I'm not so sure that opinion is in the minority.

They have only been at the farm for 6 episodes, so they can't develop every character on the show all at once. I listed all the characters that have been developed so far as well as introducing new characters (Herschel and Maggie). I think Dale and Lori are going to be pushed to the forefront in these next 5 episodes. T-Dog, well, he is probably zombie food at some point so I don't ever see him being a fully developed character. :dunno

I made the ADD comment and I stand by it. To repeat, they've only been at the farm for six episodes to date. Six. 6.

While the premise of the show isn't exactly realistic, the actions and development of the characters in response to this premise needs to be and is. I wouldn't find this show nearly as interesting and thought provoking if it was a "run and fight" zombie battle of the week, rinse and repeat format.

Don't know how many people are complaining about the show, but viewership keeps on going up (latest episode drew over 8 million viewers!) so they must be doing something right.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

All the people complaining about how long they've been on the farm need to relax... cuz when they get to ...

the prison we're gonna be there for a VERY LONG time. In the books they spent the better part of 3 years (30 issues or so) in the prison.

Yup. If people hate the group being at the farm...they're gonna loathe the prison! BTW...I don't think it was three years at the prison...I believe it was a matter of months. But I could be wrong.

So it is your opinion unless the characters are constantly changing locations with exciting zombie battles, then the story isn't moving forward.... I never seriously considered it before, but perhaps it is related to ADD. Kind of sounds like it the way you put it.

I am not complaining just simply stating my opinion as I would like to see more character development I love the show and am glad I gave it a second chance.

Making these characters (Lori,Dale, and T-Dog) more appealing I think would help the show out some. Sure they've been at the farm for 6 episodes but these characters have been on the show since the beginning I feel like I know more about Herschel then Lori or Dale.

I'm not trying to start a racial discussion but for once I would like to see the black man make it through to the end, instead of "well, he is probably zombie food at some point". T-Dog surviving and growing as a character could add a twist and I would hope in a good way.

I haven't read the books so I have no idea who survives who doesn't or what happens next simply my opinion as what I would like to see.

No I meant three years of the comic not in actual story time

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'm betting T-dog is going to be very important next season. For those who have read the comic (and this isn't a spoiler) I think he's going to replace Tyreese's character and be a love interest for Michonne. Not a spoiler, since I have zero to base that on other than a just a hunch.

Perhaps a bit more of a spoiler if you haven't read the comics (so don't read if you haven't), but still just me wondering:

what if these outsiders are supposed to be like the cannibals in the books? Could be interesting...since that was tied to Dale's death in the books.

:lecture

That's exactly what I meant, I care more about Herschel and
Maggie than I do about Lori Andrea and T-Dog, T-Dog could die and I wouldn't even care,

(actually, looking at the IMDB, T-Dog might be gone soon....:lol Damn it, I was just looking at the Actor's name and just see that)

You may want to put your last sentence with a spoiler tag in case its true or remove the whole thing.......
