Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

the hardcovers are expensive as hell. I just bought the 1st compendium that has 1-48 for $33 shipped

How many hardcovers are there? :dunno

6 of them I believe.

There's 2 Oversized Hardcovers (Omnibus). They are the balls. The third is out at the end of this month.

There's 6 Deluxe Hardcovers.

And a bunch of softcovers, including the aforementioned Compendium, which I believe has all the issues of Omnibus 1.

The dust jackets for the Omnibuses are super dope, but they have spoilers, and I can't post images inside spoiler links, soooo you'll just have to trust me.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'm not disagreeing, I loved his art, and the switch was jarring for a while, but when I go back and look at the first 6 issues now, it looks too cartoony.

I know Kirkman even mentioned that Moore's art was great, but it wasn't a good fit for the series.

He definitely has a stylized (ie cartooney look) but I liked how clean it all was.....but I digress: wasnt meant to be. I am on trade 2 and still getting used to the ongoing artist. Some of his panels looks sharp;others a but sloppy.....but all in all, loving the series...gonna buy the next two trades tomorrow.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I guess I can start sharing pics now. This iPhone pic is from within the playback tent on the set during one of the days I was there helping with PR. Here, we were watching the filming of the scene where Rick is sitting on the steps, spots a zombie on the street and then gets hit in the face with the shovel (look top left of pic, you can see the kid holding the shovel and Andrew Lincoln sitting on the ground. That's Darabont standing behind them setting up the blocking of the shot):

Bought the next 3 trades today so have 1 -6 or the first 36 issues......

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

It would make sense for them to start a new production run once this gets rolling. I'm sure they have a hard time moving the other two volumes when it's impossible to get the first one.

Hell yeah! Let's get another printing out there. :hi5:

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I just picked up the Compendium the other day. Such a great collection.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

So I went to go price the hardcover omnibuses and to my dismay https://www.amazon.com/Walking-Dead...=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1288803737&sr=8-3

Is volume 1 really that rare?

That's the way those Omnibus collections work. Hell, I'd love for Marvel to make another run of the New X-Men Omnibus, I need one myself. . . but I'd be pissed if there was another run of TWD Omnibus. They just go out of print, and people still want them. And if you still want them, you can go buy the trade, the Deluxe Hardcover, or the Compendium.

It's still a collectible. It's the same reason Sideshow doesn't make another run of the Captain America or Doom PF.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Just watched this show last night
LOVED every minute of it---I am hooked
Are there novels or just the comic books?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I posted a link a while back about it. I think it is going to be a set of Novels that goes on with the TV show.
