Not really, no. Cap's helmet was the only fail. That whole look right there belongs painted on the side of the failbus... at least the colorscheme is a perfect match for that.

There's no logical reason for him to wear a mask though. He doesn't need protection, doesn't need to hide his identity (because even he doesn't know who he is...)....so how could they work it into the narrative?
