Speaking about vintage stuff, I thought my MOTU stuff and G.I.Joes which I had got since I was 3 or so looked kinda wierd to the current level of realism. But when I saw what PRICES even LOOSE figures with half accessories missing were fetching!! I was dumbstruck! I cant believe all the 15/16 MOTU and over 100 Gi Joes and vehicles specially that F-18 Jet That are lying in my attic (they are 20 year old figures now) fetch THAT MUCH!!

Who wouldnt want to buy SUCH old stuff let alone pay like that!! :horror

SW figures in that scale have had a long history of fugly figures ending up worth $$$ in the secondary market. I remember I had a "Big Head" Solo and had no idea it was in demand until I saw it on the shelf of a comic store.

I knew a guy who had hundred of these Leia's and was holding on to them. i told him he better get rid of them befor the bottom fell out. Don't know if he ever did, but the bottom fell out not to long after. I have a feeling he got stuck with them.
When Return of the Jedi came out they were giving out a Luke Jedi Knight. I bought 7 tickets for my kids and some of their friends and keep the figures (an agreement made before hand). Ending up selling 6 of them for $80.-$100. Keep one for my collection. That how I supported my collecting back then.

It's hard to predict which figure will be sought after. And it's usually the ones you don't expect. Especially with SW figures. Usually some defect or wrong paint used, or like in the case of this Leia and Big Head Solo - just plain wth ugliness LOL

Man. I love the vintage MOTU line when I was a kid, but we couldn't afford them. I had a few GI Joes and wish I still have them.

Well she was the first and only Leia at the time. And they took long enough releasing her.

I figure we're gonna hear these sorts of stories about Hot Toys at some point down the line. . .folks will be "investing" thousands of $ into them, thinking they are the safest investments around, but they'll hold onto them just a bit too long and then. . .overwhelming regret!

Rumor has it that's supposed to be Jeff Goldblum.

SnakeDoc

I have the aliens. :lol

This was a stinker? I was going to get one for cheap. Did the body leak?

Not that I know over. Was just say with this figure who would notice. :dunno As far as a stinker, I think that depends on the person. If you like it and are getting cheap, then you shouldn't worry what someone else thinks about it.

I dont know if you guys knew about this, this is the ONLY pic I found. In India we never got hasbro or dc stuff or anything when we were kids (not much has changed even now) So G.I.Joes from 'Funskool' and MOTU from 'Mattel' were the only choices. To keep with the times Funskool released a bootleged Superman figure which was nothing but one of those Random Joe's given free with a vehivle repainted and called 'Superhero' I used to have 2 of them (If I look into my attic I still may find it)

That's fugly axe :lol But I bet it's extremely rare. If I were a GI Joe collector I'd be on that like white on rice :lol

:lol:lol:lol are you serious? Ive got like dozens of these 20 year old artifacts lying in my attic. BUT I have no intentions of selling them ever. Childhood memories... I worked hard to get them. The deal with my parents was 3 consecutive Grade-1's in class assessments meant 1 New G.I.Joe! :lol My mom and dad conned me into topping my school for 5 consecutive years with bribe like that. My grades dropped as soon as I grew out of G.I.Joes :lol
