She'll disappear quicker than her dozen donut breakfast.

Her recent pictures show she's given it up.

I hate that more than anything. Sorry you've got to do it. I went through it with my cat Fattie after 15 years and was a mess.

Thanks mate. I found myself pretty alone for a few years, and this cat saw me through to happier days. I tried to break it gently to my daughters last week. They asked if we could get new kittens the same day. It's nice to see how quickly kids can move on.

It's a horrible experience, sorry Lejuan. Twice for me, and I wasn't even the guy going to the vet and making the decision, that's even tougher I expect.

Cheers a-dev. I've had cats in the past run over by cars, mauled by dogs, bitten by snakes and occasionally run away to shack up with someone "better". This one made her way through nearly two decades. She's done well.

Oh, that's always a very heartbreaking experience.
My dog is 14 now and every day I fear it'd be that one...

Having to take my companion of 19 years to the vet for the last time.

Wow, what a beaut of a cat. Sorry, Lejuan. I get that she probably couldn't have had a better life (I, too, have had previous cats die in some pretty horrible 'natural' ways -- er, and two poisoned w/anti-freeze, by someone around here... :(), but it's hard. My cat's 11 now and very healthy, but I dread losing her inevitably, just the same.

Thanks everyone :) We've just come back from the vet. We've laid her to rest in a pot underneath a nice tree on our porch. I'm going to pour myself a scotch, sit on the porch and toast a long, healthy life.

Very sorry for your loss, Lejuan.

My Cocker Spaniel is getting up there. :(

All you can do is love 'em while you have them around. They don't ask for much... a full food bowl, exercise and a good scratch every day. I gave my cat a good life, I've got to be happy with that. Thanks for the sentiments, I really appreciate it.
