It's the "Christmas in the Park" for my neck of the woods.
Yeah I prefer your area. Candy Cane Lane is always classy and peaceful. I always love coming to the Monterey area and visiting friends. Unfortunately Christmas in the Park in San Jose will usually bring in the winos and troublemakers there. It's inevitable. Don't get me wrong it's not bad as before but it still has it's moments. Back in the day I would always see Nortenos and Surenos fighting each other and just messing up the fun for everyone else. Even the guy dressed like Santa Claus ducked and got the hell out of dodge.
He said "forget this crap..forget these snotnose kids waiting in line to sit on my lap... I am outta here". Oh and don't even get me started on Cinco De Mayo in downtown San Jose during 90's.

Christmas in the Park isn't the same anymore. It's full of jackasses who push and shove, irregardless if you have a baby in a stroller or not, it's dirty and muddy as ____ now too. You miss most of the festivities and the full effect of the lights, but the best time to go is during the day on a weekday so you don't have to deal with all the bull____.
Cinco De Mayo has always been full of laughs. I remember back in the day, waiting for the 22 at 1st and Santa Clara laughing at the vatos stumbling out of the bars ____faced and all lovey dovey, huggy and kissy and then BAM! Fighting over some dumb, redundant ____, then back to playing grabass when the cops arrived, trying, without prevail to prevent getting busted. Good times!

Decided to go all out and replace everything just about. Still looking for an entertainment center though. Thinking more of a TV stand with doors at this point as I don't want some big monstrosity that will be a pin in the ass to clean all the time.
