I appreciate you and thank you for your perspectives, xipotec. Just a technical difficulty but this country was actually founded on genocide. Immigration nearly wiped out a whole population. And those who survived and didn't conform to the "new values" were sent to boarding school/killed. I think the basis of immigration anxiety right now, with many Americans, comes from this knowledge and fears of this repeating to some extent. #AmericanHistory

America has greatly, positively changed the world overall. But it's beginnings were not some sort of dream sequence like elementary teachers tell you during Thanksgiving time. Let's not continue the fallacy that the country was built on the wonderful idea of immigration.

What you're describing sounds more like an invasion, than immigration :lol. Immigration involves a legal process, in which foreigners have to make the necessary applications, and fit certain criteria, for a country to accept them. The early Europeans didn't do that when they first arrived on the American continent.

As for modern times, not all immigration is helpful, but not all of it is detrimental to a society, either.

Not to sound crass but the way it's described in the article, (that contains typos), seems like they were targeted

Typos or not, this kind of violence happen in America all the time. This is no fake news. Mr. Green been in this country most of his life(37 yrs) and this kind of news is like norm now, to the point that he usually don't pay attention. Foreign Terrorism would have some competition in this country. We got gangsters/mobsters, militants, KKK, etc. And Trump been cozy with Russia but ohhh, foreign terrorism is so scary. Things will get worse all on our own.

Yea but Black Panther is basically gone. Haven't heard of them in the news so he didn't want to post. But if you like, we probably still do have them. They're a little like the Guardian Angel of NYC's subway way back. Heard they're trying to come back.

And the KKK still is? The only time you hear about them is politicians that affiliated them, like Clinton. Aside from that, they're as dead as the Mafia.

People have always been killed, in every country. Murder rates and violent crimes in this country are at the lowest points they've ever been.
As for the Russia Trump thing, after almost 6 months of non-stop investigations into it not one bit of actual evidence has come out, there's more evidence that the ridiculous pizzagate story is true

Until they start hitting people in the head with bike locks or shooting cops, they're protected under free speech. The Black Panthers are never exposed for what they are because it doesn't fit the narrative that only Whites are the racists.

Too many red flags in those emails for it not to have some truth in it.

The KKK became pretty emboldened in the 2016 election from Trump's nationalistic rhetoric, and David Duke reared his ugly head again in the news. They might not have the influence as they did in the early to mid 20th century, but they're still around, and they do have their supporters - many of whom choose to stay silent. Their numbers even grew last year.

Speaking as a former Canadian, I can tell you that there are White Nationalist groups operating there. Many Canadians can be incredibly racist, too.

Just don't ever try to rationalize the KKK as being the lesser of two evils. They have despicable history, and an equally evil philosophy. They're right on their way to hell, along with the Islamic terrorist groups - including ISIS, Al Queda, and all other scums of the Earth.

they are evil, this isnt about the lesser of two evils, i tried to explain this in my post, yes, they will "burn in hell" my only point is that out of the mobs and the gangs, the cartels, i doubt any of them would blow up a concert full of teenage girls. my point was never to imply anything positive. im just saying how with the other group even babies and old ladies from their own cities are the enemy in their eyes. their goal is to go to their version of heaven, thats what makes it dangerous, the disregard for their own life

Well, the one thing that ISIS has, that other extremist groups don't, is a wider marketing presence - especially on social media and Internet forums, where they've been able to spread their message and recruit. I saw a special on CNN last year, and they reported about how ISIS was mainly focused on recruiting ex-convicts, troubled youth, and anyone with emotional or mental health problems, who could be easily influenced, and susceptible to dying for a grand cause. They've even tried to recruit gay Muslims, who're facing existential crises of faith. That said, I'm sure if the KKK was able to reach more people, and if their views were more widely acceptable as mainstream in today's America, they'd go right back to burning blacks alive in churches, and having lynch mobs again. There's absolutely no way of curtailing an evil philosophy when it becomes mainstream and acceptable in any way.

On that note, it's pretty disturbing that ISIS even has a mainstream presence in a major religion. But, I know what you're saying about the brutality they inflict on their controlled territories, and really they have no qualms about killing absolutely anyone.
