Yes, he's the main villain.

The rumor is that they're going to do a crossover film down the line called Maximum Carnage which will crossover all the SONY Spider-Verse heroes (Venom, Reilly, Sable, Spider-Woman, Black Cat and an older Spider-Man) to fight Kasady and his group of killers.

No matter how it goes this will suck. It's not Venom, since his origin will not be tied to Spidey. This movie makes no sense. So if the symbiote is a lab experiment, then why would it be emulating Spider-Mans look and powers??? And Kevin Feige and Marvel have yet to respond to it having any links what so ever to the MCU. Amy Pascal is a crack addict. The twitter vid is hysterical as Feige looks at her as confused as anyone watching the video. You know he wants to stop her and say "WTF are you talking about!!!".. Sony should have just went ahead with a Miles Morales Spidey Universe, and left Parker to Marvel... Can't wait to hear more about this train wreck...

As someone with very limited comic book reading, the original mainstream Marvel universe incarnation of Carnage is easily my favorite Marvel comics character. But I'm expecting any cinematic incarnation (MCU or otherwise) to be a red version of Spider-Man 3's Venom at best.
