WOW....I almost completely disagree with the top 5.
Ocarina of Time is #8.....8 !!!!!!!! Those people of smoking crack.
My personal favorites, no particular order:
- Zelda (Ocarina of Time/Link to the Past/Twilight Princess)- Not much to say about these games. They are my favorite franchise of all time.
- Half-Life- When a buddy first introduced me to Counter-Strike in the Beta 1.6 days...LONG time ago in the late 90s when I was in highschool, I was addicted for a long time. Many nights I got no sleep from playing the game all night.
- Goldeneye- Much like Half-Life my life disappeared when this game came out for the N64. I can distinctly remember, at a buddy's house, we played 29 straight hours of Goldeneye. No rest, no sleep, only pizza eating time, which we ate while we were playing. I can still remember ALL the spawn points for The Complex that we laid with Proximity mines so when you spawned, you died instantly.
- Secret of Mana/Chrono Trigger- I was trying to pick my favorite RPG game for the SNES and I couldn't decide, so I put up both of them. They are both so great, so rich in detail, so fantastic in story that they tied. I can easily put on both games and play them for hours.
- Resident Evil- The game turned me onto Survival Horror. First, I hate horror movies, HATE them. They get me all antsy and nervous and I, the feeling you get at the VERY top of a roller coast, and I normally hate that feeling. But playing the awesome storyline and puzzle aspects of Resident Evil made me appreciate the game even more. But of course, you have to play the game at night with all the lights off. With RE4 and RE5, the gameplay has morphed a little bit from Survival Horror to Survival Action, but that really doesn't take anything away from the awesomeness of the series.
