Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

You can see alot of hairline scratches on the front left fender in those pictures...:monkey4

Or it could be the primer underneth as their all in one direction.

Yeah, it appears so. Looks like one spot in particular appears to be scratched. Maybe that's why Asaka, the guy who put the pics up originally on his blog, took them down.

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

I already have a studio scale miniature from the 89 miniature of the Batmobile, so I'm not sure spending all that money on the extra lighting etc. for the cinemaquette Batmobile is worth it to me, but that Batwing sure is pretty.

Hey PJW. Any chance you would post some photos of your studio scale '89 Batmobile? I would love to see them.

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

Sure. I'll try and take some sometime this week.

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

Asaka who got his Batmobile answered the following on CBD:

"The Batmobile was not wrapped in soft tissue.
It is nakedly in the polystyrene box.
I don`t believe,I was surprised.

There are a lot of hairline scratches on the body.
It was possible to think like the whole of body's having been wiped with a hard cloth.
It stands out terribly because it is a gloss body.
I decided the returned and exchange.
I will get the answer from HCG tomorrow.

Therefore, a detailed photograph cannot be taken
I'm sorry"

I can't believe that a high end replica with such a delicate surface is transported in the naked polystyrene...that's asking for trouble.
:monkey4
I'm holding off for the moment as I was about to order it.

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

Hopefully they will change that before they ship it.
Otherwise I think they will get back a lot of Batmobiles:gah:

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

I put my order in late..so im last in line to be called. Works out for me though because by the time its my turn most issues should be addressed and resolved...:yess:

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

One thing that we can all do is that everyone in this thread should contact George via email or phone addressing that issue and request that the batmobile should be wrapped in a tissue inside the box.

That way if alot of people address this issue, they can do it right and we don't have to return it and wait an extra 2 months for replacement.

I'm gonna contact him right now via phone and email. Come on people let's work together !!!!!

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

I'll do my part and send off an email.

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

Wow, looking at the box the batmobile was shipped in is shocking!
$2000...and it looks like used pizza box cardbaord.
CM's statue boxes are art pieces all by themselves. But that box is disgusting for that kind of money.
Im gonna call George tomorrow and give him my thoughts.

Exactly. CM's boxes and their packing put all other companies to shame. They are GLORIOUS! Hell, I've seen people use these boxes to sit their statues on. If you're going to drop two grand on something like this, it definitely deserves the "white glove" treatment with box and packing designed to be used by people like Lucasfilm. Just sayin.

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

I have contacted my lcs about this issue, they contacted their distributer and the distributer would contact Toynami about this issue.

Yeah I agree, I think I'll definitely be sticking to my studio scale Batmobile.

How well was the Batwing packed?

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

My Batwing was packed with great care same with my cowl

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

Yep the package was great but my cowl was paint damaged on the inside so I needed to send it to someone who repaired it for me.

But I also need to say BBTS paid for that.

The Bawing was almost perfect.
Only some verry little paint job errors.
But if you don't search for them you wont see it.

Re: Toynami/Cinemaquette presents: BATWING & (coming soon) BATMOBILE.

Just got off the phone with CM, they are tweaking the packaging and making sure the car is protected. I have addressed the scratch issues to them and they said that they are going to put a protective sheet over the car.

The release is still set for June release as of right now. But they suggested to call back in in a few weeks and maybe then they can tell me about the exact release date.
