Im 4 episodes in after this weekend.I really enjoy it and is similar to my all time favourite show,Twin Peaks.

Yes and with a little Silence of the Lambs/Se7en creepy vibe thrown in for good measure. :lol

For sure. The whole thing starts off with a murder of a young girl who happens to be a prostitute. Her death affects the whole town(Laura Palmer). Two detectives starts the investigation(Dale Cooper and Harry).
The murderer's sadistic ways worshipping the devil(Laura Palmer's dad who was possessed by a evil spirit called Bob).
Rust's visions(Dale Cooper's dreams that gave him certain clues to his case and a better understanding of life). And i have a feeling that Rust's visions might lead him wherever he ends up.

Maybe it's me overthinking the whole thing and im only 4 episodes in,but the creator is obviously a fan of Twin Peaks :lol

Oh,and give me a warning if you decide to spoil anything :D

Nope, no spoilers. Enjoy the show and then come back here and tell us what you thought.

I don't watch many shows.Im not patient enough so it really has to be something special for me to bother watching the entire thing.Breaking Bad,Lost and Walking Dead are the only shows ive bothered with since X-Files.Given alot of shows a chance but none has even been close.True Detective is up there with my favourite shows for sure.
Ive heard good things about House of Cards, gonna give it a chance after ive finished TD.

Just finished it.Allthough the finale leaves some unanswered questions,im pretty happy with the ending.

If they planned on making more than 1 season i can understand that they left out a few things that fans wanted answered, but is Rust and Marty returning for S2?New characters, but continues where Rust and Marty left off:
(The Tuttle family's involvement in the cult).

If there is even gonna be a S2.I have tried to avoid spoilers so i haven't checked myself.

S.2 is happening but new characters, locations, villains etc.

The Tuttle aspect is the "it's Chinatown" ending. They don't get everyone, they just get their killer from 95.

But don't you think it is easier to keep a show tight that is going to run over 8 episodes? To run a show for 5 seasons and there not be a weak season is a true feat IMO. You could argue that every season got that little bit better with Br Ba which I think is practically unheard of. So many shows start off so well but eventually decline to a shadow of it's opening few seasons. We will never know if TD with Rust and Marty could have the sort of success that Br Ba has had stretched over five seasons.

Absolutely. I find myself preferring the shorter shows for that very reason. Deadwood, TD, Band of Brothers. Sopranos on the other hand is weakened by trying to overextend it's shelf life imo.

Yeah i guess, makes it more realistic that way. There is not much more they could have done with Marty and Rust, they clearly wanted an end after 1 season, which is a shame because it clearly was a bigger success than they thought.Im not saying they should stretch it to 4+ seasons. But 2 seasons with the same story and characters is necessary imo.Make S2 short and sweet like S1 to maintain the suspense while it's still hot.I know shows loose their charm if they stretch it too far.Specially with shows like this one.

The last scene in the episode "The Locked Room" is by far my favourite scene. It was intense and gave the viewer an idea of what's to come.It could very well be in my top 5 list of best scenes in a tv series.

Was Gillian Anderson too old or unavailable? David Duchovny is wrapping final season of Californication so he could be the partner. lol

My buddy let me use his HBO GO info. Just finished Episode 1 and I am absolutely loving this. McConaughey is absolutely sensational, and I can't wait to see his character's progression.

Just wait bud...it keeps getting better!

I can't wait to start the next episode, now. There's a part of me that's hoping I don't like it as much as I thought I would, though, because those figures you guys are putting together look so damn great.:lol
