I could get over many issues with the movies if the vampires didn't sparkle, and the werewolves morphed into..uhh..actual werewolves.

I don't understand it. I get that the movies are for teenage girls, but sparkling vampires? Why? If you have to make them sparkle to attract teenage girls, then why are you using them in the first place?

Funny thing is, they didn't sparkle once in 4th film, but you do see their eyes go from normal to vamp look a lot

My wife just became a twihard in the last year which of course means I've now seen all the movies. People (well guys for the most part) are way too hard on these films.

They're better made than the SW PT and look how many Lucas apologists hang out here. At least Twilight has believable chemistry between the characters that actually drive the story and the resolution to the "love triangle" is unexpectedly original to say the least.

They're sappy love stories for gals with a supernatural twist. That doesn't mean they "suck," they're just aimed at a different demographic. Of course some of the dialogue and deliveries are subpar but that's nothing new to us considering a lot of the films that are supported here.

Not a chance in hell.

It's just the cool thing to hate on right now. I hear way more about Twilight from people who supposedly don't like it than I do from any Twitard out there.

I don't hate the films but I will say some of the fans of the films that go to comic-con are a touch annoying.

I guess if I were to get ultra-specific regarding *filmmaking quality* and not my personal preference then it'd go:

TPM > Twilight movies = ROTS > AOTC

My point still stands that they're much better movies than people like to admit.

Surely you're not serious? I watched New Moon last week and a big thing that stood out to me was the fact that there was NO chemistry between any of them. They're acting and dialogue, and just the way everything was set up is so incredibly dull and lifeless.
David the android has more personality than any character in this franchise.

I kept wondering why on earth sparkle fangs would 'love' this girl-robot person so much. There is no emotion in either of their acting, I can't find one reason they have to be together.

You always hear how terrible the Twilight movies are, and of course assume the hate for them is a bit exaggerated...but then you actually watch them and realize that they are just that. Terrible. bleh

Man, I want to see this one as I've seen them all but I just can't deal with public perception that its not cool to see Twilight in public.....this is what a grown adult My Little Pony Fan must feel like!

It does not take much to destroy Twilight, since its not really a vampire story. Its a soap-opera about lovelorn teens. The author knew almost nothing about the many variations of the vampire mythos - and it showed.

Or, it did for the 1/3 of book 1 I was able to stomach.

i don't follow this at all so can someone explain how the couple has a six year old-ish girl when in the first movie they were teens and kristin whatsher name looks the same age as she did then?
