I can see Rashad going back to HW. I can't, however, see him going down to MW.
Interesting......Rashad has said if Jones wins the LHW belt that he would move down to MW or up to HW.
^^^^ Because he and Jones are in the same camp. He stated the same thing about Jardine.
Numerous websites are reporting that Rampage was, indeed, offered the fight against Shogun(good to know I wasn't alone in thinking this since I'm so "loony" lol).
He turned it down. So they gave the shot to Jones.
Rampage said during the Machida fight that he wanted to go back to the 'old way of doing things. Where he fought just to fight and didn't care about the money.'
Funny. Because the old Rampage I know would've taken the fight in a second. Oh well.

Wasnt Rampage vs Rashad and Rampage vs Machida supposed to showcase the old Rampage? And where did the Old Rampage go? Is he on hiatus?
Yeah I figured he turned down the title shot. I don't think it has anything to do with the 1st Shogun fight though because Wandy raped him twice (both times worse than what Shogun did) and Rampage had no problem taking that third fight AND knocking Wand TFO.
I think it has more to do with him getting back into a groove where he feels comfortable first. I'm sure he doesn't want a repeat of what happened after the Griffin fight where he went bonkers and started mowing pregnant women down in his monster truck.
Yeah, he's said it before and it didn't happen. But Rampage DID say that again going into the Machida fight and even after the fight like NYNosferatu said. Rampage has definitely changed for the worse since joining the UFC. Which is funny.. because he was initially successful with that change; from striker/wrestler to straight boxer.
you are loony sir.

you're a tool, sir.
Rampage vs. Rashad/Machida are about 10X up the ladder than the level of competition Bones has fought. And I'M not saying the "old Rampage" went away, he was saying that the "old Rampage" had went away.
Regardless, as has already been stated, Rampage HAS been a shadow of his former self. But if you threw him in there with Bader, Matsshushenko, Vera, Hammil, Bonnar, and O'brien, and you don't think he's putting them into caskets, you're insane.
A LOT of wrestlers have done it and A LOT of them have had success. But Rampage's problem is, once he upped his hand game he disregarded all his other strengths: Wrestling, Kicks, Slams, etc. He just got focused on throwing hands and head hunting and that's it. That's why it's so frustrating to watch him fight now. He rarely goes for takedowns/GnP and he rarely throws any leg kicks.

I think Machida can beat Randy...Im not counting Randy out, but I think Machida can do it...then again I thought Vitor was going to be the one to take the belt from Anderson.
Rampage was right, Rashad isnt a fighter, just an athlete. We had this same discussion about Finch. This is your job, you want to be champ again? you gotta take whatever opportunity you get cause you may never see another. The guy obviously has no desire to be champ.

According to Rampage, the reason he turned down the title shot against Shogun is because of the short notice. He said he couldn't make weight in time. Said he would've had to drop 45lbs in 4 weeks and that would be impossible for him.
