The thing you hve to rememeber with Rich and Forest is that Forest was the bigger guy and you could see it in the cage. Whenever they wrestled and had scrambles you could see that Forest had the size and strenght advantage to dictate what Rich did. Rich couldnt stop it. I wanted Rich to win, and in my opinion the size advantage was Forests only weapon and well it proved to be enough to stop Rich.

"I think the person who most deserves the title shot is Jones" - Shogun Rua. I guess he is also on Jones' nuts. :dunno

.....Of course he would say that. That's his NEXT OPPONENT.

LMAO

What did you think he would say? The only two logical opponents that are deserving of a shot are Rampage and Thiago Silva. With Jones being a close third.

Jones vs. Rampage would be sick. But I doubt it would be win/win for you. More like bitter/sweet. You'd be happy one guy won and then feel like ____ for the other guy who lost (especially if it's a brutal loss). :lol

dont have to worry about that anymore :joy :yess:. i think Jones deserves the shot more than anyone in that division. Ramp only has a 1 win fight streak goin, and hes been so inconsistent with his training going back to Griffin , that we dont know which Ramp will show up to a fight sometimes. He needs to get some more momentum. Jones has completely destroyed every single oppenent hes faced. Hes made them all look like amateurs out there. He has the tools to beat anyone. No question in my mind, hes more deserving at the moment. If Rashad didnt blow out his knee, Jones prolly would have fought the winner of Silva/Ramp.

ALthough they are in different weight classes, I think Jones Vs Anderson Silva would be an awesome fight. They have very similar body types, and they both decimate their drug-free opponents. I think jones would win if they were to fight.

I disagree. I think the winner of Silva/Ramp would've gotten the next title shot.

Rampage had one 2 in a row, until his lost to Rashad(the #1 contender), and then defeated Machida. It was his shot, IMO.

Besides, there have been PLENTY of people in UFC history to receive a shot at the title on only a single fight(I'd rather not call it a one fight "win streak" since it's...well...not a "streak").

Rampage deserves it more, IMO. But to each his own.

UFC 126 Bonuses

Fight of the Night: Donald Cerrone and Paul Kelly ($75K Each)
KO of the Night: Anderson Silva ($75K)
Sub of the Night: Bones Jones ($75K)

Anderson Silva made fat bank last night. Not only did he get his standard $200K for fighting (Flat Fee/No Win Bonus) and $75K for KO of the night but he also pocketed an additional $100K from his new sponsor Bozzano.

Silva signed up with 9ine, a sports marketing firm that will be headed by Brazilian soccer great Ronaldo. And the first deal they made for Silva was that sponsorship deal worth $100K.

So all together, $375K for The Spider. Not bad. That sponsorship money alone is half what Silva makes just to fight (excluding any undisclosed bonuses like PPV buyrate money/locker room bonuses).

As far as the LHW picture: I would not be surprised at all if Rampage was offered the title shot and turned it down. Because he's already turned down two other title shots that I know of. So it wouldn't be a stretch to assume he turned down a third which is why Jones got the nod.

I wouldn't be surprised either. Maybe Dana talked to him and he said the same thing that he stated last time: "I need more time/tune-up, etc. etc."

If so, then I'd understand why he didn't get it and Jones did.

Yup. And in that case, I can't see anyone other than Jones going up against Rua with Rashad injured.

Machida is on a two fight losing streak. Thiago beat Vera but before that he lost to Rashad. Bader just lost. Franklin just lost. Forrest probably won't be cleared to fight by next month. Lil Nog just lost to Bader. Tito is on a 3 fight losing streak. And all the other LHW's in the UFC are below Jones when it comes to title contention IMO.

I agree Jones hasn't earned a title shot. But to me, there's a difference between earning a title shot and being worthy of a title shot. And I definitely think Jones is worthy.

Just like Brock Lesnar didn't earn his HW title shot the first time but he was obviously worthy because he ended up TKO'ing Couture. Just like Rua didn't earn his LHW title shot but he was obviously worthy because a lot of people felt he won the first fight vs. Machida and in the rematch Rua ended up KO'ing him.

If Jones wins, his stock skyrockets. And even if Jones loses he'll still reap the rewards since it's his first PPV main event (exposure) and Jones helped out the UFC by stepping in on short notice. The UFC seems to really go all out for people that help them i.e. Griffin and Bonnar. Those guys can lose a million times and they never seem to be in jeopardy of losing their jobs. :lol

I also wonder how much ring rust Rua will have!? Jones just fought. Rua hasn't fought since May of 2010.

:goodpost:

If Rampage did something impressive vs Machida and Rashad then I would say yes, Rampage deserves it more than anyone... but he didnt.

hahahaha

The way Jones has steam rolled through Bader makes me completely okay with a title shot. I just hope he's ready.

Awesome kick to the ____ing face by Silva.

Forrest didn't impress me whatsoever. Used his size to control the fight, but didn't really do anything with that control.

He did actually hurt Ace with a nice right hand and Ace - while he doesn't have the greatest chin - certainly has a good one.

Forrest impressed me, especially since he was coming off a long layoff. Rich, meanwhile....ugh.

:(

What's next for Bader? Forrest? Winner of Couture Vs Machida?

whaaat!? Couture vs Machida huh, should be interesting. If Machida loses to Couture, he will defn get the boot. What about lil Nog? whos he fighting next?

Tito Ortiz for UFC FN 24 on March 26. Co-Main Event is Dan Hardy vs. Anthony Johnson.

I think Machida can beat Randy...Im not counting Randy out, but I think Machida can do it...then again I thought Vitor was going to be the one to take the belt from Anderson.
