Andre Ward just got paid 2.1 million last night, and Edwin Rodriguez made 1 mil, these are guys who have never headlined a ppv. Boxers don’t get paid as little as people expect.

Of course they’re not taking the whole thing home, but they do keep the majority. We don’t know what contract their team has and how much of a cut they make. But for 2 guys never headlining any ppv that awesome money.

Ward is not gonna take the majority home. James Prince is gonna get his. Uncle Sam is taking another 40%. Then state taxes from California. Then he has to pay trainers, fighters brought in, gym, etc. Nice looking number though. Dana White knows boxers aren't seeing half that money. His structure while flawed, is much better than the boxing structure.

Let me ask you, how do you know James Prince gets 40 %, most sparring partners get paid peanuts. I mean for real, most of these guys get paid like 500-1000 a day. I know Ward is trying to split from Goossen, but he never mention it being for monetary reasons. Someone I know getting screwed bad is Pacquaio but he’s getting screwed by everyone.

After watching GSP during the post-fight presser last night, I wonder if it's worth it to be a professional fighter. He didn't seem like himself and just describing what he said last night sounds like brain damage. We all see Muhammad Ali. We've just seen Tony Dorsett. Is the money worth it. Rashad looked sad for GSP last night. He didn't seem himself.

Andre Ward has a contract with HBO. That's HBO money. Before he signed with HBO (and before that he was with Showtime) he wasn't making 2.1 million per fight. Boxers who don't headline a PPV and who don't have a tv deal don't make millions.

I can easily name more than 30.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t. But it is sad, look at guys now like Meldrick Taylor, and Iran Barkley, broke homeless can barley speak. It is a shame boxers don’t get a pension.

He didn’t say millions, he said of 50 grand. Guys like Felix Sturm, Robert Steeiglitz, Zou Shiming, Chris John David Haye, Tyson Fury. These are guys we are naming of the top of heads, in all of boxing it would be too easy to name just 30 guys.

Well since there is no corporation, I am looking for the fighter with the big promotional companies, and a lot of those guys unless they aren’t real fresh out of the amateurs a good amount make well of 50.000 a fight.

That's a bit preposterous but those guys under Golden Boy and Top Rank aren't getting nearly that.
