Thanks Reinhardt! Why do I keep coming to this thread??? Seriously, all it makes me feel is crappier about my figures.
Thanks FlyAndFight!Brilliant work of art.
Thank you playa7That is one beautifully crafted suit!
Ooh, VERY nice!
I congratulate you sir, with brand new patches.
Enjoy.
Thanks for these Space Jockey!
I know that there's a patch on the back left pocket of the suit.
Do you know where the others go? I will incorporate onto the suit for sure. Tin
That is simply outstanding work, Tin! Truly great!
Thanks sprig0701!Superb craftsmanship!!
Thanks Jmek! I've always had a fondness for these spacesuits for two reasons. The first is similar to you; I was a kid and remember seeing images of the movie (including shots of the suits) and was just captivated. I think part of it is because everything about the movie was SO different from Star Wars - which was the predominant movie at the time. It's starkness and "alien" feel (no pun intended) was awesome. And secondly - I learned much later that Moebius designed the suits. Moebius is one of my all-time favorite visionaries.Tin, I can't put in to words just how marvellous your work on this is. Suffice to say it blows Hot Toys effort out of the water and then some. The Nostromo crew in their away suits was the first image I ever saw from Alien, on the cover of Starburst magazine. It was an image that gripped me and kick started my fascination with the film. Can't wait to see him with the new head sculpt.
Thanks jutty! 70 is a good temp. And remember to display yours and not box it.damn that is truly a superb piece of work, well done...hope the suit on mine doesnt deteriorate..then again the room its in the temp in there is always approx 70F,
Thanks Kamandi! I should have the elbow guards done soon. Then it's just the head and I'm finished. That is fantastic custom work! I'm looking forward to the new Kane sculpt. Bookmarked your thread.
Kane has the triangular UK Tricentenial Patch (the one without the star in the middle) on the back left pocket; the 'KANE' nameplate replaces the inaccurate one Hot Toys provides on his chestplate.
The other triangular patches go on Dallas and Lambert.
I did all these patches a long while ago incase they released more of the crew in the Hot Toys line, but unfortunately they never did.

Thanks Space Jockey! I'm going to go to Michael's this weekend and get sticker sheets to print the name plate. For the triangle patch - I'll get some of those printer friendly iron on paper. First time trying them so hopfully they work.
