As nice as it is, there's no way I would pay $300 for it. That's entering PF territory.

Anyone else think that the price *might* go back down a bit once they ALL ship & are out in full force?

Once that happens, a larger amount will be readily available & we'll most likely see a lot more of them on ebay.

!ss!

if there are really only 1,200 of these, this could be the next toys mc coy indiana jones or medicom spiderman and never go down in price.

i'd get one now if you want one. you may wait and see them selling for over $500 later on.

i'm glad i pre-ordered this one. too bad they're not making about 5,ooo of them.:monkey2

I really want the HT figure, but I just can't bring myself to pay 300 a figure (even if I had it,) no matter how nice it is. If the HT Superman was under 100, it would be a really nice figure, but at 300, it really isn't that great.

IF I am going to pay 300+ for a plastic toy, it needs to have a 100% PERFECT sculpt, EXTREMELY movie-accurate clothing, real life-like skin, a talking feature, a ****load of accessories, and a base made of solid gold.

If Sideshow made a 12" Superman Returns figure, I'm sure it would be almost flawless AND it would cost in the neighborhood of 40-55 bucks.

But the figure's suggested retail was about half that price. Collectors are what drove it up.

I know, I'm just saying I wouldn't pay that much. Even the original 120-150 price was a bit too steep.

After seeing the pics of HT Supes, I gotta say its better than the Promo pics showed but something about the face is really off. I can't place my figure on it but it almost looks as if he's crying....The suit is all wrong. After seeing Superman Returns I really love the darker colors and want the figures to follow suit. The colors on the HT fig are way too bright. The Medi figure looks bright but if they figures follow suit the color will be much darker in production. I still think Medi's offering will trump this. I wonder if Takara has one up their sleeves and I'd LOVE for Sideshow to snag this license. Fingers crossed they get a 12" Marvel license soon but I think DC Direct's offerings will kill any hopes of an SST DC Line anytime soon....:monkey2

Finally collected the Hot Toys Superman yesterday at my local action figure store for US$100!!! What a great looking figure that will give the DC DIRECT figure a run for their money.... I have not fully taken the figure out for some poses yet, but here are a couple of pics I took of the figure half opened from its already great looking packaging..... >>>>

Hey Imran, does your local store still carry this figure?? If so do want to buy another one and I'll pay you for it!

Anyone have both the DC & HT's figures?

Wonder what they look like side by side...

WOW, better than I thought, thanks this is just great!

Makes a lot of sense for the price I paid, Cape is superB.

Am I the only one who thinks the DC Direct sculpt looks a little bit more like Routh?

Nope, I do as well. I think they did a better job at capturing the smoothness of Routh's face. I think the HT sculpt just looks plain weird, maybe it's the paint.
