So do you guys think LG are a good brand for LCDs?
Cos i was thinking of getting an LG 42" or a Sony bravia, but thats 32".
They are both around the same price, and I'll only be using it for gaming and blu-ray.

Well getting my bro's plasma fell through so did some major research on the net and bought a 46" Panasonic Viera plasma 800 series.

Its the best tv over here in its price range and had a slightly better picture than the Sony Bravia it was sitting next to in the store but for about a grand less.:D

Hey EA you bought that tele yet?

Personally i probably wouldnt buy an LG but they are pretty much the standard level tv that seem to be popular over here with your everyday punter.
Not one of the top brands but depending on which model of course seem to be fairly decent.Apparently there just about to release the worlds thinnest LCD of 24.8 mm.

Here's an aussie site that has good info.;)

I just bought a 52 inch Samsung LCD after going through two Sharps. It is a beautiful set with a hell of a picture. I went back and forth between that and a Panasonic plasma. Pictures looked to be about the same color wise. The plasma had slightly better detail that you really had to look for. However, the plasma was 50 inches for the same price. I am used to having a 52 so I went for the Samsung. Plus I got a mail in rebate for a free $200.00 to use on NFL.com. :rock

I plan on getting a new TV this week. I have narrowed my choices down to two, both Sony 40" LCD - Sony KDL40W4000 or Sony KDL40W4500.
The W4000 is the cheap "older" one (came out in March, i think) and the W4500 came out a couple months ago. The differences, other then the price :D is that the W4500 has a little better sound, you can hook up your laptop or camera and it has motionflow 100Hz.
I'm going out tomorrow to check both out at the store but i just wanted to hear what you guys think. Is the motionflow funktion worth the extra cash? Also, this will be my first flat-screen TV so i'm kinda new to all this.

I got a 46 inch Toshiba Regza LCD - great customer reviews, good warranty and awesome price. All my tvs have been Toshiba and I've never been disappointed.
