Empire Strikes Back is a 10.
A 10 out 10 movie is a movie that gives me the most perfect experience.
Little things aren't judged when the overall piece works on the levels it should.
I don't know if I've ever given a film a 10.
Avengers is one. Jaws is one. Shawshank is one. Shindler's List is one. Alien and Aliens are...two...?
When a movie can hold up, after watching it more then once, it elevates the experience. I'm not a nit picker. Nit picking sucks. It's the single worst thing someone can do to almost every movie.
Unless it's already terrible, and the reason it's terrible is the fundamentals of filmmaking are horribly flawed.
So for me, when I watch a movie I love, I don't look for reasons to hate it. I did it when I saw The Dark Knight after 20 times, and trust me, it's not fun.
