Right and how many words is the source material for the original LOTR trilogy? I'm betting at least twice as much :lol

Tom Bombadil agrees. Too bad he and other characters weren't in the movie.

I'm talking about the Hobbit.

I think the LotR trilogy could have easily been made into six movies.

Maybe they're just not going to leave **** out like they did/had to in the LotR trilogy. :dunno

Thought this was pretty much common sense, but one old snippet from Jackson pretty much sums up why there weren't 6 movies:

Jackson: Yes. Unfortunately due to time constraints and budget limitations we had to take out a lot of great material written by Tolkien.

My guess is he got to do what he wanted this time.

Yes, pretty simple, maybe they're not leaving a bunch of **** out. Scroll up and read.

That makes sense. It just seems wildly dispropportionate. Hopefully The Hobbit films don't drag as a result.

To be fair you wouldn't worry about anything Tolkien. :lol

Not true. I have issues with the books and the movies both. I've mentioned them many times over the years. However, from what I've seen myself and what friends who have seen the movie said all things work well within this movie. So I think I can be trusted when I say I wouldn't worry about things too much with this movie.

I don't believe you. Name some of them? some of the issues with Rises?

TDKR - some scenes are too rushed, film is edited too tightly to get it under 2hr 45min so they could play it at IMAX without an intermission. And Talia's death is the worst bit of acting in the entire trilogy.

BB - film is perfect until the last Act - too much cheese in Ra's/Batman dialogue at the end and the whole microwave emitter thing is a bit silly

TDK - Harvey's descent to madness is rushed. Could have done a ton more with the two face persona

I don't think so. Avengers and Batman have alot of mainstream appeal. They had more star-power and characters that everybody is atleast aware of. The Hobbit is going to be more for the nerds. Frankly, the trailer left me completely indifferent. I think I'm just over this film after all the waiting and delays.
