Edit: Why isn't this gif working?

I disagree, maybe 8/10. The GA prototype is where it's at. HT should of used Yulli to sculpt this one too. Fingers crossed that the WW GA headsculpt is the same.

The GA sculpt is great no doubt about that. But I think what folks maybe aren't taking into consideration are that they are two different expression as well. GA sculpt is soft, hopeful with a slight smirk. Regular armor is stern, focused, ready for battle with a furrowed brow. I think they both capture Gal nicely and don't feel one is better than the other, just different expression with different emotions. But as always, to each their own.

I'm really on the fence about this one. I think the headsculpt of the Golden Armor version is better than this one, but this one has the more iconic outfit and sculpted hair. On the one hand I want to wait to see how this headsculpt turns out when the figure is finally released, but by that time the pre-orders will be full around these parts of the world. When stores do get her in stock they'll raise the price with $100.

Also, do we know the tiara is actually removable? It looks rather fixed to the sculpt to me. I'd sooner be guessing we'll be getting an extra tiara to hold, which would look dumb because she also has it on her head still. Even the photos don't show the whole figure while holding the tiara...

The specs do say "Movie-accurate facial expression, make-up, and removable gold colored tiara"

Aside from that, no one will know for sure until the figure is released.

I was wondering that too, but as gipetto says, it will be removable. I think the sculpt will be tweaked before release, hopefully to improve it

I think you can see that its removable as if you look at the various proto pictures it changes position on her forehead. In a couple of shots it is lower on her brow.

In the initial promo pics the tiara's position is quite consistent (it pretty much takes up her entire forehead anyway lol), but in this pic from last week's Summer Showcase it's definitely a bit lower as the point is down between her eyebrows.

So much better and natural with synthetic hair.

Except mass produced rooted hair will never look anything like that. Maybe on a custom or a high end statue like Queen Studios Joker. From Hot Toys, no chance.

I'll take sculpted over the cheap, frizzy, doll like rooted hair HT uses every time.

You're entitled to that opinion, but I try to keep an open mind with respect to the sculpted/rooted debate as every single situation is unique. And I chuckle when people b*tch about how frizzy rooted hair can look, like that's completely unrealistic. Oh wait....

Sorry but sculpted hair every day.

That being said white suit BW with her hair sculpted around the batons should be interesting lol

I agree 100% for shorter hairstyles, but depending on the figure long sculpted hair can be both extremely restrictive and flat out ugly. The sculpted hair for both this and the BW Snow Suit look quite nice, but how they'll impact posing is still TBD. I think that's why the Golden Armor version has rooted hair. Most people will probably opt to pose that one with the helmet on, so the messiness of rooted hair is negated while flexibility for posing is maximized.

I can't wait for people modding a patch of rooted half underneath the baton holes to fill them in and then act like they're Apple using an idea that was revolutionary 5 years ago.

That Elrond showed off at Sideshow Con has sculpted hair mixed with rooted pony tails glued to the shoulders.

I guess if they could take a predesigned lump of synthetic hair already shaped and sealed into its final solid form and then have it glued to the head that could work.

I think lol
