MCU movies actually make sense WHILE simultaneously exhibiting the same heroic happy optimism as WW did.

What do you mean Amazonians mad no sense. Weren't you paying attention? They were a bridge to a better understanding. I did not know how they made others understand anything when they were afraid to leave the island, but you know that was they're purpose.

Say, a woman could be a fireperson, if she meets the same standards everybody else does. But lowering the standards because "progress", is dangerous, and so on for other stuff.

70 years ago my way of thinking would probably be considered very liberal, but when the times change people expect you to subscribe to their way of thinking or you're all of a sudden a horrible person.



I personally believe in live and let live, I only care about my family and when I do have kids, passing on what I believe is right to them.

For example, I don't believe in homosexuality. That's just something I find immoral but I also don't hate gay people. It's just something I wouldn't want for my family and especially kids (when I have them). I certainly don't want to see it in movies unless it has something to do with story.

If a woman can be a fire person and meets the same standards then sure, but I also believe that's a borderline impossibility And if I was a fireman, I certainly wouldn't be comfortable with a woman watching my back in a fire.

I have a feeling I'm probably going to get banned today and difabio will return

I think if Wonder Woman was in the MCU I might rank it in the worst films from them. Probably with Ultron, Thor 2, Ant man and Iron Man 3.

Ummm, I mean I obviously believe women should have rights, but I'm certainly more old school in how I believe relationships should work, or even certain jobs. For example, I don't think women should have certain jobs such as being a Fireman, they're a liability. I certainly don't think women should be slaves or anything like that, but I definitely believe this is a man's world like James Brown said

Our city fire department has three women firefighters and they're more than capable of handling a fire. IMO one should never underestimate anyone.

We did have a couple of dudes here, or maybe it was in another thread, that were marines, and they were telling us about their experiences with women in the military, pretty much validating this stuff, but I say there are exceptions for everything. If a woman wants to be a firefighter, let her try, she's gonna have to try harder than a man to compensate for her possibly weaker physique, but if she meets the standards there should be no problem.

I have an uncle, he's gay, and he's married, my other uncle is pretty cool, they're probably most stable and well put together couple in my entire family second to my parents, lots of divorces in my family, I think that's more immoral than gheiness, but I get what you mean.

I think that's a reasonable mindset, but you're also wise in keeping your opinions to yourself in these regards, even in here of all places.

I think people are just way too sensitive and I mean that for both the conservatives and liberals.

The funny thing is, when it comes to things like art, I try and judge everything fairly. A movie like Brokeback Mountain I certainly respect and understand it's a good movie, Mad Max Fury Road I thoroughly enjoyed, you know my feelings on The Last of Us, yet I believe it's one of the best games of all time.

Then people might called me a hypocrite because I don't care about race when it comes to movies at all, as long as it's inspired casting. If they made a Metal Gear movie, I would not care what Big Boss looks like, as long as the acting and the story is great. So I don't fall all the way on the conservative side, I always try and remain as objective as possible when it comes to judging things.

Let me ask you a question; if you're trapped in a fire with absolutely no way to escape and a firefighter busts through a door to save you; you're saying that if its a woman firefighter you'll hesitate to take her hand and be saved?

The problem is when u look at statistics and look at news of how some firewomen were not able to break the door or how the firewomen themselves had to be rescued by their guy partners.
Or how they had to lower the test scores for them to pass and stuff. Youtube is full of videos of lady cops not being able to arrest big guys and pedestrian men having to help.
