Let me just jump in on this ES discussion and say that as a collector you should buy a piece cause you like it and want it! now in the the fact that low edition size is more appealing to the collectors personality i get that, but the real winner is desirability, how coveted is a statue? even if it has a ES is in the thousands if it sells out fast and is hard to come by after, that is a statue to have, those statues sky rocket in price and people want them regardless of the number scribbled on the base, and when the mark ups are reaching quadruple the price then those 2,000-3,000 people have something that tens of thousands of people want. just my veiw on the matter.

Much like the Sideshow Lord of The Rings statues that had an ES of 9500, Batman which has an ES of 9500 will never be highly coveted at that ES. Search ebay now for the LOTR. Look at sold auctions, the stuff is selling for UNDER retail. I don't care about big ES, I realize Batman would have a big ES. I don't think Supes was unreasonable at 7500 ES, but I do think Batman's ES was overkill and idiotic IMO. Also, people will say I'm a broken record about speaking my mind about ES but those same people are hypocrites in that every single post they write is "ES doesn't matter, collect what you want, blah blah..." Speak for yourselves folks, don't tell other people that DO care about ES what to think. No one is stupid enough to think DC will have a low ES. 5000-6000 Wonder Women PF's is reasonable imo. 10, 000 ES is not. If they overkill it, why the heck waste my money when I know I can get it on ebay for cheaper (see LOTR auctions) later. I don't mind the wait and can wait to see how her paint turns out before I hand over a dime of my money to the very QC-problematic (but awesome sculpting nonetheless) Sideshow. If they keep things reasonable, I will buy. If they don't, I pass. *Broken Record Alert* For the newbs: Batman PF has been in stock for almost 2 years. The fact is, they made too many and they know it. Statue collecting is a small niche market and there aren't tons of people willing to buy at these prices, I back this up by looking at what Big Characters are still in stock. :)

how u know she's the one?

when u open a bar of chocolate and the gold wrapper reminds you of her
when you're afraid to ask her out cause she's stalking u and she'll kick your butt!

It's still too soon to pass judgement on the Bats PF. Hell, the EXs haven't even all shipped out and the REGs aren't going to arrive until March. So, this statue hasn't been out for 2 years. It has only been available for order for that long. We'll see how long it'll take for the REGs to sell out. I think they may have made too many of them as well but time will tell. I will say that if they did over do it with Bats, they seemed to have learned a lesson. There are 2000 less PFs overall for Supes and we have yet to see the ES for WW. I really don't think we'll ever see an ES the size of the Bats PF again. Especially if they are taking up space in a warehouse and not selling.

And personally Batman PF is a mess, ES is bloated but why? cause hes batman? its not that great of a sculpt, Its plain compared to what sideshow normally makes, so yes i expect to see that statue floating around at retail price. I'll agree with you there.

How long do you guys think this preorder will last?

There should be no hurry. The EX should be up for a few weeks. Even if it sells out in less time then that...jump on the WL the day it's sold out. That's essentially a guaranteed conversion. The REGs will be available well after it ships given the high ES most DC pieces seem to have.

I think I'm right- though of course I could be wrong.
I agree that people appear to be clearly satisfied with how it turned out- and yes, I wanted something different.

The question though, that I was implying, is- just how much latitude and tolerance is there in what people here consider to be 'precisely' what they wanted?
In other words, would a different facial portrait- with all else being the same- be enough of a difference to these people to have suddenly changed it from a must have to an easy pass?

While I realize there are many collectors here who have some hand in the visual arts- and are adept at visualizing specific alternatives in their imaginations, I think the majority are not like that and are simply admirers/purchasers/collectors- and as such will either buy or not and won't expend a lot of energy thinking/imagining/re-envisioning how something could or should be different. For them, it is what it is.
It's Wonder Woman. She's brandishing bad azz weapons, she's standing atop a nicely executed base (and a damn near elaborately lush one compared to Superman's). It checks off all the boxes needed- hence it's not just a purchase...it the most amazing perfect thing Sideshow has put out this month.

And if I were a company putting out this kind of stuff- the latter is much more the customer base I would prefer. The former can be way too much of a pain in the @ss.

I don't think you can generalize it like that though man. Because you're only paying attention to the crowd that likes how this turned out. Those same people may have still liked it IF it did turn out differently with softer features etc combined with the people that don't like how it did turn out plus factor in the people that simply read these boards but don't ever weight in. I just don't know that you're considering all factors. But why over-analyze a hypothetical situation anyway? Sucks it didn't turn out to your liking but are you still going to get this? And if you don't hopefully there's some other manufacturers out there that have produced a WW piece you can be happy with.

I agree, I wasn't impressed and hope that their blue and grey sculpt Batman pf will be far better. He looked ok, but not amazing the way he should. I also think for 400 dollars they should not have finished him so cheaply with the bat logo. Should've kept what was on the proto. The armpit thing would have made me return him but fine by me that other people were ok with that. I bit my tongue when I read that other people were running around trying to fix him. Fact is, at 400 dollars+ you shouldn't have to fix anything. My wife's designer wallet doesn't need to be fixed when she buys it... they really need to get QC on Supes and WW right too.

Batman is an AMAZING BEAST of a PF. I am more then happy with him, and he TOTALLY lives up to the "photos don't come anywhere close to doing him justice" cliche. If you are just judgng off of pictures you dnt have a ****ing clue.....He is SO AWESOME!!

I am standing 2 feet away from him and IMHO there is nothing to be fixed.... He is by far the best new PF I have seen in the last two years... And I have seen all of the most highly touted statues. He is a personal GRAIL to me... Hands down.

Superman 2500 ex sold out in two weeks and there was a lot of hate for the ex head. I think the ex for this could sell out fast.
