Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

2 users on OSW report that the store sent them an email that their packages were returned by US and Canadian customs.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

I also received an email from them saying that it didn't clear Australian customs due to lack of invoice attached, and was returned to them.

They have since resent it, with invoice this time.

Doesn't look promising... :(

But I'll just have to wait and see if they deliver the goods.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

I hope it works out for you but I find that explanation dubious at best. I get packages without invoices all the time, marked as gifts, undervalued etc. but my customs always ask for a paypal statement and then assess duties and taxes. I think its weird that US, Canadian and Australian customs would have a unified response to the lack of invoice..

Sounds more like buying time to snare more buyers. Hope I'm wrong tho

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

I ordered with the free shipping too, but it's funny though, how can a package be insured with no tracking number?

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

I dont know about Australia, but here in Sweden, if a package dont have a proper invoice attached, the swedish customs will contact you by mail, and ask for a invoice or some other proof of whats in the package (and the total value of the goods). They wont just return it to the sender without further investigation.

This have happened to me quite a few times.

it does actually sound like they are buying time, remember guys you have 45 days to file a dispute with paypal if u get the wrong item or no item in the post from sender. by saying that the package was sent back to them cuz of no invoice buys them heaps of time, they could quite possibly be stalling so that it exceeds the 45 days with paypal and then u cant do ____. i warn everyone to be cautious if your package doesnt arrive and its nearing the 45 day mark to put in a dispute with paypal to cover your own ass.

If your thinking of buying from them i would advise you to hold off until we have this issue resovled, seems very alarming what is going on atm guys.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

Yeah this isnt sounding promising at all now. iPaul's been treated terribly & the if you look a few posts back, you'll see an email I posted from them stating how they don't ship to country's like Romania, yet they still took iPauls money who's from Romania & now these latest issues. I told a friend about these after the positive feedback they were 1st getting from buyers but now I'm concerned. Hopefully everything will work out positively for everyone who's purchased from them.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

Hey guys ,I received my package and guess what happend?THE BOX WAS EMPTY!I contacted as soon as I noticed this and they kept blaming me like it was my fault ,they kept telling me how it was my fault because I signed the package without verifying it first even though it's not possible to unbox it before you sign for it and how it was my fault because I dont have a scanner and stuff like that ,I can't get my money back ($500) because I bank wired the money and now I'm stuck with a Chris Redfield empty box .SO DON'T BUY THEM FROM ,THEY'RE SCAMMERS!

Sucks but you bank wired $500 half way across the world? Credit Card. Always. Because you could just report this to them and be done with it.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

The site doesn't have a Credit Card payment option, only paypal and since I don't have a paypal account I had to wire the money.I knew it was risky but I never thought that I will end up getting scammed since I saw a few members of this board saying that they aren't scammers and that they had a very good experience with them.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

Seriously what the ____ is that stuff with shipping stuff insurred but with no invoices...
Guys if i were you i would already open the case on paypal so if it arrives you can close it if not you'll be convered.

so u got a number when u made an order with free shipping offer olbertfrog? i enquired about this and the seller replied that the free shipping does not come with trackable number, hence mine did not come with one so i find it strange u got a tracking number and i didnt and we both purchased when free shipping was available by the sounds of it, whats even stranger is u have tracking number and its not suppose to be trackable, then whats the point of giving to u in the first place?

Yes i got a number that start with CP and ends with HK.
A non trackable number is not uncommon.
The document that you need to fill to send a parcel has a number on it it's just that it's not trackable.
But like i said usually you get at least the information that the parcel has been collected by the post office wich i don't hae here...
About the Insurrance it has to go at least with registered mail.
And Airmail Registered is not always trackable and usually begins.
But seriously they are not very clear about the airmail shipping method.
Don't get why...

Ipaul,
i can stress enough that you definitly have togo to the police instead of just complaining here...
As for the good experciences, well Razor as been the most vocal one but seriously the thing about not keeping its invoice and such...
Makes him more fishy to me than anything else, he's also a new guy on both forums...

Personaly i did not make my order based on his experiences but on those old members of onesixthwarrior and from the good vibe i got with the seller.

If i have nothing by the end of the month, i'll alert paypal and go directly at the police.
But for now i'm good.

Whatever happens i'm not going to order from them anymore.
Guys are not clear about a shipping option with is probably one of the easiest thing to do.
I rather avoid the hassle than just to save a few dollars...
Too bad if they end up being really clean and legit because their way of dealing seems amateur to say the least...

Never worry about being ripped off, until you've been ripped off.

Tracking numbers don't work worth ____ sometimes... things come right to the door.

I promise that once these guys start ripping ppl off, they will be gone... so have no worries they are right there still taking orders and running.

I would rather set up a PayPal account than send someone $500 straight from my checking.

Do it for all future stuff. :wink1:

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

Can a seller empty his paypal account before a claim is made and thus pre-empt paypal?

Yes.......but then they are still legally owed that money and will need to pay via the card liked to the PayPal or another method.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

I have just had a conversation with the owner of HotToysOnlineStore and he is also very frustrated by this situation.

iPaul, any chance you could explain why you have not yet approached your post office regarding the matter? It's just interesting to hear both sides of the story here.

Anyway, Dave said he will post here soon. I think there is a few days wait for new owners before their first post approaches. Ragardless, I feel him being a strong presence on these forums will put a lot of as at east. In my conversation with him he has mentioned that he has sold over 200 figures now and this is his first major hickup.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

I placed an order during the free shipping promotion and had no problems. They seem earnest enough.

Chat. the last time he called to check if my figure got here OK it was via Skype. I just asked him to give me call back via Email which he did. He looks forward to getting on here and sorting this out. He certainly make a solid argument and has proof that his package was 2kg when it left his hand. He has spoken to EMS on his side and they said the costumer needs to take it up with his post office as the package is insured. To this date iPaul has refused to do this. I'll let him answer the rest. Not for me to get involved.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

I knew it...

One thing I have learned about this forum... there are ALOT of cry babies here... one little thing is wrong with their toy and it's WHAAAAA WHAAAAA WHAAAAA....

ipaul has a reason to be upset but... ipaul obviously has done this to himself via the way he paid, and the way he handled the situation...

I just look at pictures mostly on this forum.... all the other PARANOID CRY BABY CRAP is just too much

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

Thanks.

I made a simulation on HK post.
With airmail parcel you can add insurrance and/or advice of receipt (registered).
It's up to you.

Would be better is they just shipped airmail parcel insured and registered.
There is traking, not as detailed as EMS, but it does the trick.
And is not much more expensive than just airmail.

Ipaul,
you need to do something not just vent on the forums.
The seller might be honest, you have to work together.
