Thanks Razor1

Just to make it clear ,I just wanted to tell you guys what happened to me,if you want to believe me,ok ,if you want to buy from them ,it's your choice ,it's ok with me ,I won't lose anything if you buy from them but you may .I've contacted my postal office and the customs they said the seller/person who sent the package has to contact EMS and talk to them,I tried to file a claim but they told me that it's not going to help since I'm not the one who sent the package.I've showed them the pics and I tried to explain them that I'm not able to do anything to get the insurance for the package, they kept telling me that I need to go contact the postal office .As I said above it's your choice if you decide to make a purchase with them ,not my loss if anything goes wrong.

Thats what i said from the start.
You can do nothing, only the person who sent the parcel can file a claim YOU can't.
I don't see why the shop is causing you any problem, you paid for insured EMS, the insurrance is there for case like this.
The only thing that is troublesome it's that you have not checked it before signing for it that is your mistake.
To show your honesty go to the police, file a claim, sent it to "David" wich will have more power to file his claim with HK post services with the help of this police claim.
Seriously i still don't get why you have not done it instead of complaining here....
If "David" refuses to file a claim then they are not doing their job.

yes exactly it started and ended with those letters

How long before they told you it was shipped and the tracking being visible on hk post.
Mine doesnt show anything yet...

This freaking does it! i am VERY sceptical, but i will order a figure, just to test them out, and for everybody to see. I will pay via paypal, i live in Sweden, and have bought atleast 20 figures before, from different ebay sellers and stores, mainly in asia, not ONE single problem ever.

I will keep all the paypal reciepts, slips, boxes etc. etc, and take pictures of everything.

Will keep you guys posted ...

Here goes nothing ...

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

You really sound like the guy that I talked to ,the guy who "tried to help me".

If this is a scam I have no doubt the scammers will be looking on this site/thread, Maybe even join and claim to be a buyer to smooth things over for more time and get others to part with more money.:dunno

But that might just be suspicious me:peace

when i submit my tracking number on the hong kong post website i get the following info only:

Outward insured letter:

Item Number Origin Destination Delivery Event Date
RB*******HK Hong Kong Qatar (State of) 10-Jan-2012

Status
The item left Hong Kong for its destination on 12-Jan-2012

They said it will arrive 27-30 of january

but that is the case with most items you cannot track it after it has left hong kong and arrived at its destination.

My apologies
the item that i recieved with the CP******HK was my blade 2 figure that i got from ebay from a Hong Kong seller that one is an outward insured parcel and i got it in 4 days from the 10th of january.

I know ,right?Even if they actually sent my action figure and it was stolen in transit this shows how professional they are, they don't give a **** about you after you bought the product ..so yeah ,I wouldn't buy again from them since they aren't professional ,they blamed me for everything even though this wasn't my fault .
I didn't do anything because I know it's just a waste of time ,they live in China (HK) ,I live in Romania ,I would just waste my time going to the police and file a claim because I know they can't do anything about it .

I asked them several times about the tracking number but they said they don't have one and after a few days I asked them again (on the chat) and they gave me the tracking number but the package was already in Romania for like 2,3 days .

Ipaul,
if the store is actually trying to make things right, even if the first exchanges were heated between you, the file complain will help them.
I did not say file a claim against them but against the thief, here in france when you don't know who robbed you you can file a claim against "X".
Also it could help you get maybe something from your bank.
Dunno, i guess it's worth the try...

Lomous,
thanks, RB seems to be registered from my past experiences.
Don't get why mine is CP...

It will be a waste of time man ,I am 10000% that the af was stolen before the package arrived in Romania .I just told you guys this so you can be cautious with them .

But that's just an empty accusation without you knowing the answer. Dave has proof that the package was 2kg and intact when it left HK. Somewhere from HK to Romania someone (most likely customs in Romania) took out you figure. Problem is that you signed for the package and taken liability for it. If you didn't sign it would have been a straight forward complaint to the courier and proceeds would have began to reclaim the insured amount working with Dave. I am not sure what your options are from this point. It must be bloody frustrating I can certainly understand this. However there is no need to warn the rest of us as long as we;

As mentioned before 1. PayPal and 2. Check parcel prior to signing for it.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

Even if he signed a claim at the Police would definitly help...
But hey he made his choice.
Don't think it's usefull to dwell anymore into this.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

I'm more curious to find out if all those "returned" items from US, Canadian and Australian customs will end up where they're supposed to.

How was I supposed to know that the box was empty when I signed for it,they won't let you check the box until you sign for it.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

Ofcourse they do. When you sign for your parcel you are signing an official document that means that you have checked that everything that was meant to be in the package is all there and that it is in no way broken or damaged. So in other words, you can no longer follow up any problems with the courier due to them having proof via your signature that the parcel was delivered in perfect condition and you agree to this by signing.

I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ask the courier to wait a second for me to check the parcel contents and 99% of the time they are happy. I grab a pair of scissors and cut it open IN FRONT OF HIM and if I am happy I will sign there and then......if there is damage then I will refuse to sign and get the courier to lodge a damage in transit claim. I have done this before. There are some smartarse couriers out there that they say they can't wait for you to check your parcel because they are running behind schedule............I always tell them I will not sign now and please come back when you have a minute to spare for me to check the parcel prior to signing.

If you follow these steps (in addition to paypal) you will never ever ever ever get shafted by online stores.....guaranteed.

It's a really really harsh learning experience but at least now you know how to approach it next time.

As OlbertFrog mentioned you could definitely try the police. Depends which country you are from. If I tried that here in Australia the police would laugh at me and tell me to go to the post office.

Maybe try having a chat to Dave again. Maybe if he is nice enough he might cut you a deal on another figure if you are lucky.......depending on how nice you have been to him :slap. Then if you follow PayPal and check parcel prior to signing you are 100% covered.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

Razor1,
delivery guys i encountered usually refuse to let you check the packages before signing.
Even if the law says otherwise.
There is some sort of way of accepting to package but be protected at the same, for that you have to fill a form that the delivery guy supposed to have with him.
They usually never have it, or say it doesnt exists, and tell you to state near your signature that you take the parcel but noticed discrepencies on it.
Wich has absolutely NO LEGAL VALUE...
When i want to open my parcels, i just refuse it, collect and check it at the office.
It's a cultural thing, in Europe everybody tries to screws everybody if it means less work for them.

Geez that's bloody unprofessional isn't it? On the rare occasion that I get a courier say he is too busy for me to check it now I tell him to bring it back on the same day when he has that minute to spare......funnily enough they always manage to find the time right there and then:rotfl. A couple of times they said they will refuse to come back and will drop it off at the office for my collection later.......I tell them I will call their manager to make a complaint as the customer service is below par.....again they let me check the parcel. Like you said, just different cultural approached. Still, at the end of the day it's in your interest to check.

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?

Look lads all we need is one good delivery and everybody will feel a whole lot better.

I am expecting my Classic Predator within the next 6 days so hopefully by saturday, we will all know and be happy.

Too many conflicting posts from those with a low post count here to know for sure. We need one of the 'established' board members to validate this store.

I am still thinking that while thing do look a little odd, but this could be a combination of miscommunication and the store suffering teething problems which is totally forgivable I think.

A sound Classic Predator delivery is the key to happyness! :)

Re: Unofficial Hot Toys web-shop--legit?
