While DOFP was good it also had a sleeping Wolverine, When Harry Met Sally had more action.

Shouldn't be too hard to top.

X-Men movies are on the low end of exciting superhero action scenes when compared to the others in the genre.

Indeed, that asspect of the boots often goes unnoticed by most X MEN fans. Good observation.

You make a good point, Apoc's boots have a very techno feeling which gives the character that classic look, the whole design is very well rounded.

Nice. Cartoon Apoc was way cooler looking. Look at him...he's flawless. Perfect design in every way.

Especially the boots. I don't like the ones in the film.

Oh gosh, more from Kinberg:

The X-Men film franchise may have a hard time topping the time-travelling, franchise crossover event that was X-Men: Days of Future Past, but writer/producer Simon Kinberg says the next film in the series, X-Men: Apocalypse, has some new tricks up its sleeve.

Speaking to Empire Magazine, Kinberg explained that Apocalypse differentiates itself largely through the epic power of its titular villain, the ancient En Sabah Nur.

“This one does some things that the franchise hasn’t really done on film,” Kinberg says. “We've got Magneto using his power to lift incredibly large things and Wolverine will face his toughest opponent yet. Not to give too much away but you might actually get to see how he responds to having his ass handed to him.”

So I'm watching DoFP and although I really like his character in the films I'm realizing just how tame and human Jackman's Wolverine has become. So far removed from x-men 1 wolverine. It makes sense for the sake of storytelling in a cinematic world but I wonder if he's anything like the comics Wolverine now at any point?

Logan needs a proper stand alone film, not the watered down stuff we've gotten so far.

I see that possibly happening with the eventual recast.

I am also hopeful about that. Fox obviously isn't afraid to target adults explicitly, as Deadpool shows (and Days of Future Past, as well). Maybe they've come to accept that Marvel Studios is enough to satisfy the kids, and Fox can do something a bit darker and more mature with the X-Men/Wolvie.

But I actually don't want to see more Wolvie solo films. He's better served being a team member in the X-Men, and not the sole focus of attention as he has been. Make him just one among the group, but make him a vicious bad-ass with a bad attitude.
