Well, we had almost 30 years of cinematic one shots, what's happening here is that we're getting 20 years worth of universe building within 7 years time so yeah it's exhausting.

But we also need to take into consideration that universe building in Wall Street terms really stands for studios mitigating risk, relying on franchise building and the global market. The movies need to be spectacles while ceding characters and storytelling to Netflix.

I don't mind what Marvel is doing, it's obviously working for them, I would just prefer if other studios came up with their own original ideas for their franchises.

Nice. Cartoon Apoc was way cooler looking. Look at him...he's flawless. Perfect design in every way.

Especially the boots. I don't like the ones in the film.

You make a good point, Apoc's boots have a very techno feeling which gives the character that classic look, the whole design is very well rounded.

Perhaps they've wised up and realised that they won't be able to do anything to force a rights change so decided to profit from the movies instead of not

Or perhaps with notorious douch Perlmutter not involved with the movies side of Marvel anymore things have changed in regard to Fox/Marvel merchandise position

Give me bald headed young Professor X, Fassneto (whichever version) Quicksilver, and Apocalypse I think they would all sell really well.

I would buy anyone they make though except for young Raven.

That's true, that would be great. I hope Deadpool was just the tip of the iceberg.

The X-Men film franchise may have a hard time topping the time-travelling, franchise crossover event that was X-Men: Days of Future Past, but writer/producer Simon Kinberg says the next film in the series, X-Men: Apocalypse, has some new tricks up its sleeve.

Speaking to Empire Magazine, Kinberg explained that Apocalypse differentiates itself largely through the epic power of its titular villain, the ancient En Sabah Nur.

“This one does some things that the franchise hasn’t really done on film,” Kinberg says. “You have a character called Apocalypse, who wants to do a different kind of damage than X-Men movie ever has. It’s the first time we’ve had a villain in an X-Men movie who could compete in terms of physical power and presence with Magneto. It’s an interesting dynamic to create.”

Not that Magneto won’t have a role to play. In fact, he’ll be one of Apocalypse’s four Horsemen. Considering the amount of destruction we’ve already seen Magneto to be capable of without Apocalypse’s help, we can only imagine what he’ll be capable of with his new boss’s enhancements.
