Same here, they should have him direct Deadpool, that's seems like a perfect fit for him.

I kind of got the vibe he doesn't like the tone of Singer's X-Men films, because tonally all of Singer's X-Men films are very serious and DOFP was no different, In fact I would say it was pretty much the anti GOTG.
I agree that they are generally more serious, appropriately reflecting the source material in that respect, I wouldn't say it was the "anti-Guardians of the Galaxy." For that, the closest we've seen are probably the Nolan movies, that don't have much in the way of fun or humor at all (and when they attempt it it usually fails). This movie had Quicksilver, whose primary purpose seemed to be to inject fun and humor into the film, and Logan doing a fair amount of his straight man humor.

For Apocalypse?

Like DOFP, I'm almost certain it's going to be great, Singer is 3/3 with his X-Men films, and we're finally going to be getting a decent X-Men team, albeit they'll be quite young but I think that's pretty fitting since this will be the end of the prequel films and it would be criminal if we never saw how the original team started and came together.

I just think the love story is going to be too distracting from the actual plot. I hope I'm wrong on that honestly.

And I'm not denying all the Singer X-Men films haven't all been excellent. DOFP felt more like the old films with FC sprinkled in.

Yea maybe it's not the anti-Guardians but I always found his X-Men films to be just as serious as TDK trilogy, it's just obviously not as realistic. I also always found his X-Men films to be far more violent than TDK trilogy.

I would be worried about the kid cast, if FC and DOFP hadn't been so good.

Source material for Nolan's trilogy is also pretty damn serious, even more so than DOFP.

It failed? Hmmm I saw plenty people laugh at the jokes-

But the Quicksilver bit was indeed better than that and half the humor of the MCU.

I'd say they're about equally violent, TDK did have bodies hanging from buildings and such, that's pretty shocking imo.

X-Men: Abercrombie and Fitch

:mwaha:mwaha:mwaha

I think Chloe would be an excellent choice -- but for Rogue (I realize that ship has already sailed, but after watching Carrie... well, connect the dots, guys). I wouldn't mind her as Jean though. Rather have her acting chops in the movie than not at all.

The Cyclops candidates, on the other hand... no. Lordy, no. I mean I guess the dude on the left is the most acceptable IMO, but the dude in the middle -- ****** factor off the charts. Dude on the right -- how? Even with hair. They'd have to dye his eyebrows, methinks.

*in full disclosure, I think there was a chuckle or two at this one in the theater. Maybe that's what Caspar was thinking about*

Now these scenes are funny

I wish Nolan was as smart as Burton and would have added some Bieber to the score. TDK trilogy is filled with missed opportunities unfortunately.

Why don't you make a poll thread about which Batman movie is funnier, yeah?
