I got a bad feeling about this film, and we haven't even had a casting for Apocalypse yet.
I agree that they are generally more serious, appropriately reflecting the source material in that respect, I wouldn't say it was the "anti-Guardians of the Galaxy." For that, the closest we've seen are probably the Nolan movies, that don't have much in the way of fun or humor at all (and when they attempt it it usually fails). This movie had Quicksilver, whose primary purpose seemed to be to inject fun and humor into the film, and Logan doing a fair amount of his straight man humor.Same here, they should have him direct Deadpool, that's seems like a perfect fit for him.
I kind of got the vibe he doesn't like the tone of Singer's X-Men films, because tonally all of Singer's X-Men films are very serious and DOFP was no different, In fact I would say it was pretty much the anti GOTG.

Source material for Nolan's trilogy is also pretty damn serious, even more so than DOFP.I agree that they are generally more serious, appropriately reflecting the source material in that respect, I wouldn't say it was the "anti-Guardians of the Galaxy." Yea maybe it's not the anti-Guardians but I always found his X-Men films to be just as serious as TDK trilogy, it's just obviously not as realistic. I also always found his X-Men films to be far more violent than TDK trilogy.
I would be worried about the kid cast, if FC and DOFP hadn't been so good.
X-Men: Abercrombie and Fitch
*in full disclosure, I think there was a chuckle or two at this one in the theater. Maybe that's what Caspar was thinking about*
Why don't you make a poll thread about which Batman movie is funnier, yeah?
