Well Hugh is retiring from the role next year but yea, Joel is a bit too old to play him since trilogies don't really exist anymore even though Wolverine consistently in the comics had the look of a man in his 40s. But if Affleck can play Batman at an older age, then maybe there's hope.

Unfortunatley by the time Hugh is finished with the role and a new X-Men movie gets made he'd be about 44 at least.

But damn would he make a great Wolverine.

Can't agree with you on Edgerton. He's also not short. The guy's at least 6'/6'1". Just watch Midnight Special. Michael Shannon's 6'4" and Edgerton is only a few inches shorter than he is.

Also, don't expect Jackman to go away right after Old Man Logan. Rumor is Reynolds is trying to get a Wolverine and Deadpool movie off the ground after DP2 that would bring Jackman back. The thought of those two headlining a film together probably gave FOX a box office boner large enough to pay Jackman an absurd salary for donning the claws yet again.

Randomly enough the Russos also said on Screen Junkies that they'd love to bring Deadpool into the MCU. If the studios don't work out a "Spider-Man" deal to bring both DP and Wolvie into Infinity Wars then I could see them moving over to Fox after IW wraps.

I thought it was rather good...I'd give it a 7 out of 10. I understand the critics score but I'm surprised to see it so loathed on here.

Remember, if its not an MCU movie, most people here will bash it.

I cringe when I read the sentence "Can't wait for the rights to revert to Marvel" but it is the anthem for the current CBM bandwagon that reigns supreme online.

Moving who over to Fox?

I is confused.

The Russos. :lol They obviously aren't huge fans of Feige and in the same interview where they expressed their love for DP they hinted at being frustrated with not being able to kill more characters in the MCU. I think they might have their sights set on a move to Fox.

I've gotta admit, seeing their take on Wolverine and the X-Men would be pretty damn awesome.

That would be sick.

But please no Deadpool in the MCU, keep that 4th wall nonsence out.

Oh man, Apoc will be opening lower than DOFP, doh!

Wow I wasn't aware that X3 has the highest opening weekend, even over DOFP!

Hope this happens.

The Winter Soldier was the best movie to come from the MCU so far and I'd love to see them direct a CBM where they're given teeth. No surprise they're sick of Feige [already].

They'd make a killer X-FORCE movie.

Edgerton has the look and acting chops in my opinion, and he's 5"11 with a compact build.

I love Jackman in the role but I think he's gone after Wolverine 3. After That movie, Deadpool 2 is coming, maybe Jackman will make a cameo in that but I can't see him doing anything else after that.

Wolverine in the MCU would be as neutered as he was in the Rothman-era FOX (Origins).

The current FOX regime is open to an R-rating for CBMs - something Disney publicly denounced. The Russos would revel with that kind of creative freedom.

I do agree here.

That's right. They said they enjoyed Deadpool but wanted Wolverine for the MCU. And I have no idea if they'll go to Fox or not. I'm totally speculating. They may never want to direct another superhero movie for the rest of their lives after Infinity War. I could see them going off and doing their own political/action/sci-fi thrillers after they move on from Marvel.

I see that being a thing too.

You guys who are baffled by Wolverine's look in the film HAVE read the comics before, right?

The film toned down the headgear a bit, but the look of Weapon X and Psylocke in this movie are basically right out of the comics. A rarity for Singer.

I rate it a 6.5/10. Great premise but so-so execution. Highs: Opening sequence. Original horsemen (would have liked to have seen them on horses during the procession). Jean and Scott. Storm was good but hope she has the regular hair on the next outing. Nightcrawler was taller than expected but well portrayed. Apocalypse design. Archangel and Psylocke designs but neither actor had much to do. Xavier and Magneto continue to be well done. Quicksilver scene was great, but a little too long. More visually spectacular even if it is heavy CGI. Lows: Jennifer Lawrence performance and makeup. Munn's 5 lines. Archangel's lack of backstory ?? and possible fate. Wolverine's dorky Weapon X VR headgear (yes it was based on the comic, but most people in the audience won't know that, and it's only the top half). Weak script.
Well below Civil War. About on par with BvS but for different reasons.
I'd put it in the middle-bottom of the X-Men movie pack
X-Men 2
X-Men First Class
X-Men DoFP
X-Men Apocalypse
X-Men
X-Men 3

Agreed.

Wolverine looked perfect and moved perfectly throughout his berserker rampage.

I haven't seen the film yet, but I saw the new Quicksilver scene, and it's pretty good, although I'm not sure why they picked "Sweet Dreams", but anyway, he's the best version of Quicksilver that I've ever seen in any medium, including the comics. I like his personality most of all, but he's OP as hell :lol This guy makes tv and cartoon Flash look like a snail by comparison. I don't see how anyone or anything can even come close to touching or hurting this Quicksilver, when they are just frozen in time.
