I imagine some of them will return for future movies but the focus will move to Scott, Jean and Ororo.

The formula of the X-Franchsise has been to tell a main story and have a sub-plot highlighting a particular character.

X-Men was about the threat of Magneto against Humans with the character sub-plot being Rogue and her dealing with finding out she's a Mutant.
X2 was about Stryker trying to eradicate Mutantkind with the character sub-plot being Logan's search for the truth of his past
X3 was about the MutantbFure with the character sub-plot being Jeans Phoenix personality
X-Men First Class was about stopping the Hellfire Club starting World War 3 with the sub-plot being Erik's search for Vengeance
X-Men Days of Future Past was about stopping the future Sentinel dystopia with the character sub-plot being Charles accepting his paralysis

I think it's likely that this movie will be about stopping Apocalypse with a Mystique sub-plot

Then the next will likely have a main story with a sub-plot about Scott

I am thinking for the future the go with the younger X men cast , a Deadpool movie , and I am assuming X force is their answer to DC and marvel squid squad and guardians .

Not a bad line up they will have to create a story that sets them apart from the movies and perhaps set it in the future to do away with the time hopping cable

Yeah, ideally they should have them interact with Deadpool and be set in the present time or future.

If FOX was smart, they would move the wheels forward on X-Force. I could've sworn they mentioned they were working on them a couple of times.

Hopefully Bryan Singer will have nothing to do with the project and the Deadpool team can do X-force so they can all be colorful

No doubt not the recent incarnation is not something I read, but the back in the day the 90's version with Rob Liefield. If I recall the main villian in that story was the Cabels evil clone Stryfe and his team. Its a good story line. I am hoping for something total different if its set in the future since all the xmen story lines revole around the mutants struggle against a world that hates them I would like to see something along the lines of the age of apocalypse were the mutants are on top and the humans are on the run and the xmen are proctecting them.

Any hints on what stoy line they could be using for Wolverine 3 ? Allthough people speculate that wolverine 3 could borrow heavily from " Old Man Logan" I doubt they could use that plot line considering its uses a lot of marvel characters which they do not have access to and we have already seen logan in a bad shape and come back from it in the prevoious movie its be a repeat in that regards.

I sm hoping for something with " Red Omega" Alpha flight or other wise

I wouldn't be shocked to see her crawling back for cameo gigs in five years a la Halle Berry, but I hope that isn't the case. Female actresses don't usually have very long careers in Hollywood.

Sophie is currently on the cover of Phoenix magazine and it made me immediately think of how much Phoenix tendencies they will give her in the films.

Why does everyone dislike Lawrence?

We need to start getting used to the idea of different actors playing the same character during the same continuity, like different representations of characters in comics.

I liked Lawrence, but this is an opportunity to get someone fiercer to play Mystique.

Lawrence is TOO BIG of a star now to be in a movie like X Men not in the lead. She is red hot and looks to stay there for awhile. I think she was wasted in the part myself...
