Yeah, I think it would be a small role/cameo if Dazzler was included as well. I just hope to god they don't hire someone like Lady Gaga.

Angel and Psylocke both deserve redos for their previous film versions. Angel was lame and barely did anything and Psylocke was a ****ing travesty.

I hope we don't get anything more than token cameos beyond the characters they've already announced. Obviously, Prof. X, Fassbender, Wolvie, and Lawrence are going to get most of the attention anyway. Presumably Beast will also be back, in addition to Cyke, Marvel Girl, Storm, and Nightcrawler. If you start cramming even more characters into the mix then I can't imagine we'll have any chance to get to know the "new" characters.

It doesn't matter when they show her IMO, they have the characters so mixed up (Original X-Men with New X-Men) now it's a non-issue.

Just something with her and her powers would be nice, I just get a kick out of the character, though I'd rather see her more in the future interacting with peeps like Gambit and Rogue.

Yeah, none of the continuity makes sense. I mean, Nightcrawler? He was some religious sideshow freak on X2.

Wanna throw Jubilee in there? Go right ahead. She was in X-Men and X2, but who cares.

Yeah I know she was in it, but that was a terrible way of having her. Don't see how they can manage to get in a Iceman and Rogue via age 15/16, yet couldn't have Jubliee in the mix. Eh old ones made no sense for me.

I'd rather have Psylocke than Jubilee. It would be great to have her as Angel's love interest pre-transformation. And then helplessly watching as he is turned into a grotesque evil archangel controlled by Apocalypse. Sort of a tragic love story. Yes I have an obsession with making sure Angel is in. And he should be I the same age range as Scott, Jean and Storm. As for Psylocke she should be Asian, not a muddled backstory of a British woman's mind in the body of a ninja assassin.
Anyway great to see how the cast is shaping up. A few more character announcements will be most welcome-the afore mentioned Angel and Psylocke, somehow getting Iceman in, even recast as a 15-year old, and Bishop coming back from the future. I'm not sure what the plan is for Gambit, if he'll be in this one or just a standalone. A longshot possibility would be to cast a younger actor to play him in AoA and then have the Channing Tatum version do a standalone set in the present. Would also be nice to see Rogue but not sure they can make that work in the timeline.

Psylocke would be fantastic, and like you mentioned Asian background. Jubliee is a personal favorite, but Psylocke would easily be a badass for it. I'd imagine an X-Factor film could happen, or has it even been teased? I don't know, but that'd be cool too.

I don't think Iceman would make much sense, as he was about 15 or so at the time of X1, even if the film took place at the end of the 80's, he'd only be at most 5. I know we figured that the time lines won't really matter, but still don't see how they'd get Iceman and Angel in it at an appropriate age. I'd like to see both, but don't see it really happening.

Being an old school X-fan who doesn't really care for a lot of Jim Lee's creative ideas, I would rather they use Psylocke as the British sister of Captain Britain only, and never do the lame mind merged into a ninja's body silliness. And let someone do a trippy Captain Britain film influenced by the mid-80s series, with all the alternate realities and weirdo villains.

But I'm in the small minority there, I'm sure.

Retcon is a weird and squishy thing. You can make the argument that the timeline kicked in after the events of DoFP altering everything that came after, or you can say the timeline disruption event travelled in both directions altering things both before and after the event. So conceivably that gives the writer the freedom to change things down to timing of conception or even who got what X gene. Easy enough to do in a 60-second Prof X voiceover -- "some mutants were born earlier, some later, some never existed, and new ones appeared... ". Sure a few folks might gripe or call it cheap, but that would evaporate if the movie rocks. So if they wanted to they could add Iceman back in. As for Angel I'm not sure they slapped an age on him so conceivably he could have been the same age as Cyclops if someone wanted to try to be a timeline stickler. But really in XFC Trask was a 6-ft African American and in DoFP he was a British little person. Nobody complained to my knowledge.

Yeah you got a good point, I viewed Angel as maybe 30 ish in X3, so that to me would put him as around 10-12

So looks like he'll be Angel/Archangel. Don't know anything about the actor, but he kind of has the right look. Now bring on Psylocke. She's one of my favorites and it would be nice to add an Asian to the cast.

He looks sort of baby faced, but checked his IMDB and he's 24. Also listed at 5'10 which is okay although Foster was 5'9" but seemed kind of short. Anyway glad to see Angel in the lineup. I do think there's a chance this could be a great story arc within the overall flick. The more we're hearing about the movie the better it's sounding. Now just hope things don't go south when the first costumes shots start hitting the interweb.

Now the reports are that he won't be playing Angel. He's too small for Colossus, but maybe he could be a young version of Gambit since he looks a little like Channing Tatum, so that could be a good intro (although it would be a dead end gig for the actor since Tatum would take over). No other characters have been announced or hinted at. I just want Angel and Psylocke to make the cut. Maybe they will call the character Archangel since the numbskulls used the Angel name in XFC and don't want to risk confusing a tiny percentage of people who could probably not care less. It's also possible it's just studio disinformation and redirection, who knows.
