I usually agree with the clown prince and gaspar, but not this time, Jackman in my opinion was awesome in DOFP. He may not be the Wolverine straight out of the comics but his version is just as compelling. As long as he's physically capable and doesn't phone in any performances I would hope he remains Wolverine, he's just way too talented of an actor to be replaced, especially with the series being at its peak.

He is starting to feel a bit out of place with the new cast isn't he?

Yeah, and I'm just tired of him :lol 16 years is a long time. After Apocalypse, FOX should start looking for a replacement, unless they have several more films in the X men Singerverse, but at some point they have to give Jackman a nice send off, and recast the role.

X Men first class could have been the perfect reboot with new actors taking over some of the key roles like Xavier and Magneto and playing those characters for the next 10 years, and then later on introducing a new wolverine to fit with the new cast. Instead, we get this weird mixture of the new class cast...and Jackman...again. I just want to see a different interpretation. Jackman is the ONLY live action Wolverine in the history of the character, think about that. Who knows what other actors can do with that role?

He still looks physically Capable but he's starting to look a little too old imo.

In a few years he'll be great for an Old Logan movie though.

But you're right, still probably too early to recast him.

16 ****ing years...... ****. :horror:

Yeah I know, I like him, I didn't use to but now I do, still isn't my ideal Wolverine, and probably never will be.

He was a cameo in DOFP :lol I hope he gets more screen time and fighting this time around.
I hope he gets a decent choreographer this time, seriously, there isn't one single good Wolverine fight in the entire franchise, he's always so stiff, probably cause he's flexing all the time, and his fights are not kinetic at all.

Nope, like I said, too stiff.

The same with the mansion fight, I remember the way he ran :lol

They're just ok fights, nothing remarkable, which is a shame for a character like Wolverine.

The only good one that I can think of, it's the one with Victor and Wolverine go back to back to fight Deadpool, and that one was only cool because of all the stuff Deadpool was doing.

X2 mansion scene was perfect imo. He was fast, brutal, agile stealthy etc.....

I do think he's a bit stiff in most of the X-Men movies though. I think if Vaughn would have stayed with the franchise he would have given us some amazing Wolverine fight scenes.

This scene here tops everything in a Marvel superhero film for me. No cgi or shaky cam needed, just great acting.

Really? I thought everything about that movie was terrible, the fight choreography, cinematography, editing, acting, FX, just everything looked like a fan made film. I'm shocked that movie didn't cripple the entire franchise.

Yes it was, you're right about all that, which makes the fact that the final fight vs Deadpool is one of his best fights all the more sad.

I thought Deadpool was fun though, he's the only thing I like about that movie, Reynolds as Wade was on point, and the fact that they shut him up was ironically funny, it's a good material for funny references for the future Deadpool movie :lol

I don't mind Jackman's fighting because I've come to expect average to mediocre fighting in superhero films, and both Wolverine and Batman are good examples of characters that are incredibly skilled fighters with super human athleticism, yet in the films, they move like normal humans, not superheroes. I can understand that in Batman's case, he's hindered by the suit, and at least in the TDK trilogy they were smart enough to acknowledge the suit's limitations in order to show Nolan's "real world" feel, but it would be nice to get a Wolverine and a Batman that aren't limited by the actor's physical limitations.

Yes you're right, but we're starting the get really nice fighting, MoS had fantastic action, exactly what you'd expect from heavy hitter characters, then there's Winter Soldier, there's not enough praising for the fights in that movie, hell, even the Ant-man test footage had an excellent fight scene.

Batfleck should be the same, I expect nothing less than true Batman fighting skills from his fights, anything less is going back to Nolan and Burton fighting and that would be a failure at this point in time.

I am so stoked about Jubilee!!

I guess this means we won't be getting Dazzler or Shadowcat.

Maybe the time traveling events have altered the future timelines and she will have a cameo as Wolvie's sidekick?

Man, Singer is bringing in the whole 90's team.

Cyclops
Jean Grey
Beast
Nightcrawler
Jubilee
Gambit
Wolverine
Storm

My only fear for this film is if they focus on Mystique too much.

That would rule! I doubt Shadowcat will return, and I don't think Dazzler will make it in. But they've put in some obscure characters in the past, so anything is possible.

I worry about that too, it needs to focus on the team... just being a team and banning together against a common enemy. It should be the X-Men and the Brotherhood vs. Apocalpyse and the Four Horsemen.

I can't help but think of TAS with how the lineup is filling in.

:lol

Jubilee is fine but I'd much prefer Psylocke and Angel/Archangel be cast. If I hear that I'm good to go. My only concern is that by casting one Asian female they might not cast another. Jubilee is Chinese, Psylocke is Japanese (forgoing the mind swap mumbo jumbo). It's also possible they might cast a Japanese male and go with Sunfire.
