Well, it's also the fact that unlike Singer, they don't try to avoid the source material -- they embrace it. And are you kidding me? X-Men has a TON of characters that would be visually brilliant, if Singer wasn't focused like a laser on how to subdue everyone. Pretty sure he looks at something like GotG and finds it too outlandish and wishes it were more grounded.
I don’t think thats true about Singer. Look at his last movie Jack The Giant Slayer. It wasn’t a good movie, but it wasn’t grounded at all. He just happened to make his X-Men films more grounded, which I think works great.
