I remember thinking during that scene that it's tough for Germans to do that dramatic "Nooooooo" yell. They've got to tack on that "n" sound at the end, instead of just trailing off.

I watched the film again tonight totally awesome....I witnessed a strange scene. All the years going to these type of films, I never witnessed a hot chic alone on the edge of her seat watching the movie. I did tonight :clap

Hey guys,

The wife and I will be seeing a movie tonight and I'm trying to decide between X-Men: First Class and Super 8. I was originally planning on Super 8 because there's already a lot of superhero movies this year but the reviews for X-Men seem to be so surprisingly good that I'm wondering if we should catch that after all.

For those who have seen both films, which would you recommend to see on the big screen? Is X-Men: FC the best X-Men yet? Thanks.

Khev, I saw both and I liked X-Men: First Class more. Super 8 was great, but the story, action and acting by Fassbender and McCavoy is worth seeing in X-Men over Super 8, imo. It's personally my favorite of all X-men flicks.

I am not sure it is the best X-Men yet. It is definitely better than 3 and most likely better than 2 (I need to watch it again) but I do not think it is better than 1.

Super 8 was a great film and I think I enjoyed it more than X-Men. Is your wife into super hero movies?

Thanks for the quick replies guys (even though its a 50/50 split. :lol)

My wife loved The Dark Knight and Thor, but could take or leave pretty much all other recent comic movies (Iron Man, Spider-Man, etc.) That's why I was curious as to whether the new X-Men is considered the best of the series or just on par with the first two films. One of her favorite movies is The Goonies and from what I hear Super 8 is a bit of a throwback to that. Would you agree after having seen it?

It is a great mix of vibe and kids from The Goonies and ET.

Thor Was an enjoyable not too serious almost parody film. I hate Thor but I enjoyed the movie a lot.

XM First Class was a really great film. IMO it's better than the first but not as good as the second. Way better than Wolverine and X3... dont even mention that in my presence.

My biggest problem with First Class? It felt like it was missing the X-Men. Charles and Magnus were great and Magneto was the guy who had all the coolness factor. Frikking amazing. Loved him. But the rest of the characters were the lamest in the X-Men universe.

Loved FC though... Great film one of the best comic pictures of all time.

IMO These are the cream of the Crop comic movies...

Dark Knight
Batman Begins
X2
X-Men First Class
Iron Man
Watchmen
Sin City

Good but not as good as those ones I's say...

X-Men
Superman
Batman
Batman Returns
Blade
The Crow
Thor
300

Bad but I like anyway...

Punisher War Zone
Wolverine

Anything else is just BAD...

Iron Man 2
Both Hulks
Blade 3
Every other superman than the first
Batman 3 and 4...

bad bad bad bad :(

Haven't seen Super 8 but I have seen Xmen first class. It's worth seeing on the silver screen.

Well we ended up going with X-Men: FC and loved it! (In spite of my wife leaning over halfway through and saying that a lot of it reminded her of Austin Powers :gah: :lol) Quality-wise I found it to be along the lines of Blade Runner -- mostly good throughout and then elevated to great with the last 15 minutes of the movie.

Absolutely the best X-Men film, IMO.
