A figure doesn't have to be $120 to be quality. It's just the little details.

Like the stripes on his jacket pocket. The stripes don't match the little lines on the movie jacket. All SS did was cut a little piece of the ribbon they use for the fake pant stripes and stuck it on there. That is half ass.

Making the jacket the proper color would not command a $120 price point.

If companies like HT can make a nice figure at a little higher price point, why not SS? Especially if the edition sizes are more than HT's.

Even if the SS is the best one so far, if it doesn't really "pop" for me, I don't need it. I'd rather have none than compromise.

That is my philosophy, as well! The "b-b-but this is the best one so far!" mentality has only served to clutter up my house with stuff that I otherwise wouldn't had bought after the hype subsided.

At first, I got a excited about the Bossk bust, but then I figured I didn't like a few things about it. It's written off. That space and money will go into something I like more.

my problem with this figure is that it looks really toyish, it may be the paint job but the sculpt just isnt showing the detail that it should, looks more like a hasbro from what ive seen.

Yeah, I'm hoping they refine it a little before they do Tatooine Luke should they choose to re-use the sculpt.

I must wholeheartedly agree with this. It's been that way with pretty much every release thus far. Where's the over-achieving?

i would tend to agree with that, hot toys and medicom have faults of course, but most of the time i think they really really try to get it as perfect as they can, even if they mess up colors or something.

Yeah, I'm hoping they refine it a little before they do Tatooine Luke should they choose to re-use the sculpt.

Maybe it's the skin tone, but the Yavin Luke end product is looking a lot to me like the PF Tatooine Luke.

Blind devotion must kick ass. I can only imagine whats its like to look at all my SS figures and see nothing wrong.

It's a hobby. I save my stresses and *****ing for my real life stuff. I don't bother getting all pissy over my toys. That's it plain and simple. Nothing about blind devotion at all. I just don't get all worked up over my toys.

But if you wanna go into blind devotion. Let's talk a little about all the crap that's gone on this board because of your devotion over Medival Kurgan.

P.S. This thread is also not the first time I have seen some idiot bash JL for being a teacher. Well, how about you try doing the job or shut the hell up. How does his job affect his opinion? In what way does sitting in front of a computer screen give you any knowledge of his skill or ability? If you (and I mean that in a generic "everyone who sinks to this level" tone) can't debate his opinion without resorting to personal insults, you really shouldn't bother typing a response.

Thnx. Some people just don't have enough going in in their lives that they must make themselves feel cool by trying to pick on someone over the net. Pretty Sad if you ask me.


Ya know if HT or Medicom makes toys so much better than SS. Then why not find a board just for those companies then? Why spend time around here with us who like an inferior product?

I agree even HT and Medi have their faults in terms of making something accurate...however for some reason I get a sense of "wow thats really cool" when I see a HT or Medi release. Even something as bland as the HT Prison break figures were a "wow" in terms of figure quality.
It's been a long time since Ive had that wow feeling from SSC...but ANH Obi may be the one to bring that back, I hope.

And to address Douglas, why would SS be bankrupt if they made higher quality figures at a higher price point? If smaller companies like HT and Medi can survive, why wouldnt Sideshow? I think youre also wrong about people not buying them if they were a higher price but "perfect". People want perfect, and imo the general collector in this hobby is willing to spend the cash if the product is breathtaking. I think you are in the minority to think you can cheapskate your way around in this hobby. it's going to take dollar signs period.

Blargh blargh blargh. Anyway, this is mediocre to me, if you like it than congrats, money well spent you're happy. I can't say more than that. I think the Jedi Luke is still the best sculpt, and this just is a step down. But again, if you likey, than cool for you! I'm not gonna pee on your parade.

Because the name of the site is SIDESHOW FREAKS and the last time I checked HT and Medicom products are not Sideshow made items. Doesn't matter if they're distributed by them or not.

I'm not leaving cause I'm here since this is a SIDESHOW dominated board. That good enough for ya.
