Hot Toys: Thor - Thor Love and Thunder 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure

So mine arrived last night, but I didn’t have time to open the box until today.

Thor is my favorite character, but I was torn about getting this since I already own the Dark World (Heavy Armor) version and I still maintain my one figure per character rule. Also, I was afraid that this Love & Thunder version too busy visually.

In hand the figure is vibrant but not overly so in my opinion. Also the headsculpt and arms look great.

Here are a few pics, in a few I swapped out the head I use on my older figure (modified AOU w helmet) and put it on this new body. The older head would sit better if I remove the rubber piece inside that accepts the neck peg, so that is why the neck looks a bit too long in my pics.

The new sculpt is defiantly better than the prior versions but I think I like him with the helmet. I am considering repainting this helmet (it is damaged in a couple spots) and buying another L&T head and modifying it so the helmet will fit.

I also am considering painting the discs on his torso to chrome to match the helmet.

I welcome your thoughts …

Btw yeah, I accidentally scraped some of eyebrows with the helmet a while back …been meaning to touch those spots up also.

He also looks pretty good with Mjolnir as well …

How do you feel about it @Omega9300? Couldn’t tell from your review if you’re happy with it or sort of meh?

I have the body coming from this release as I couldn’t find anyone selling just the arms so I’ll have some semblance of what this figure is sort of like in hand I guess. Such a shame that this came before HT’s change of pace with better sculpts and moving eyes being standard. If Thor is your favorite, apparently rumors are that there is an Artisan version in the works so that could end up also breaking your one only rule haha

Did few mods to Thor Dark World (Armored version) figure
Now it my ultimate version of Thor in my collection.
If I haven’t done the mods I probably buy this new one and repaint like in the end credit.
Not a fan of the colors scheme of the one in the movie and the helmet.

Yeah been hoping they'd do a color variant exclusive or something.

Want a helmeted Thor but this design's helmet looks too egyptian. Probably will just wait for the next movie.

So I painted the dials, and although the helmet still needs some work I feel like the modifications improve this figure for me. I also have to touch up the eyebrow area where I scuffed it while adjusting the helmet.

Yeah @Gipetto0812 I was wasn’t overjoyed as I opened the box, but wasn’t really disappointed either. I wish that I had a WOW feeling as I opened it but it was pretty much what I expected. When I put it on PO I knew there were things I liked about it (arms, shoulders, cape, boots) and things I didn’t (lots of lines and colors all over the place) … so I anticipated making some changes.

I may modify the sculpt that came with this too fit the helmet so that the head sits on the neck better. It has a magnetized connection so my AOU head will never sit securely. It’s just that the head modification to make the helmet fit is severe and there is NO GOING BACK once it is started. Also the Love & Thunder head is noticeably larger than the AOU or TDW versions so there no certainty the helmet will fit.

Anyway, not completely done but …

So, I still need to touch up the helmet paint. But I did modify the Love & Thunder head to fit the helmet.

I am really happy with the result! To my surprise this new head fits better in the helmet than the AOU sculpt I modified previously. Being larger the L&T sculpt fits more snugly on the sides and doesn’t leave the gaps the AOU head did.

I really liked him a lot more now.

I painted part of the chest plate blue (not perfect but) and touched repainted the damaged helmet.

Got the body in for this figure today and I have to say, the new silicone arms with strong ratchet elbow joints are a much needed and welcome upgrade to the previous Infinity War Thor arms. The detail, articulation and mass are just so much better. If I still had any of the previous bare armed Thor figures, I would definitely be looking for more of these arms to upgrade the previous figures with.

I realized going in that some people on this forum would find my modifications to this figure unsightly/ugly or unneeded.

I really do like him this way a lot! Even though my helmet needs a bit of sanding and repainting still, I love how this figure looks with it.

I was a big comic collector as a kid (70’s-early 80’s) with Thor being my favorite character, one iconic aspect of his overall “look” was his helmet.

Because I have a one figure per character rule (still hanging on), I try to get whichever version I think seems most representative of the character to me.

So when I ordered this Love & Thunder figure two years ago, I knew that he had to have a helmet …for my collection.

Often wondered how it would look if they used real feathers for the wings on the helmet in the movie. Probably wouldn't work, but still would like to see their interpretation of it.

Maybe if they do Beta Ray Bill he could have them.

I’m using the L&T arms on my 3Z Storm Shadow. They might not look it in the pics, but they are bigger than the IW Thor arms, have better detailing and skin texture, and much better range of motion.

Oh dude. I freaking need this! I hate the arms on storm shadow! For years I've been saying TBLeague is the only company that does seamless arms right, with proper double bend arms. I need these arms for storm shadow and Rambo now!
