I might be in the minority on this, but it would be nice to see a slight curve to the belly. Nothing crazy, but his gut shouldn't be completely flat from the side. Would make it more accurate to Winston's designs and less stiff.

If they really want to knock our socks off, they should make a 1/4. A figure for the ages, that would be. I suppose it's more likely now than it was a day ago? :lol

Went from extremely excited to very disappointed pretty quickly upon realizing this is a repaint of Classic Predator from 14 years ago. The new diorama base is awesome, but this character deserves a total do-over with a hidden-joint soft seamless body like they used on Carnage (where they proved they can do detailed paintwork on soft material). The fact that they're using the same biomasks tells me they're probably going to phone it in and re-use the totally inaccurate (for Jungle Hunter) Classic head as well - since the helmets wouldn't fit otherwise.

Hopefully this is just a stand-in figure and the final product will be less re-use, but I'm not holding my breath. If there's a Dutch 2.0 to follow though he'd have to be all new.
If they can’t put the effort in for the Jungle Hunter, no way are they putting together a brand new Dutch.

They’d probably put a T2 sculpt on the new wolverine body and call it a day.

Has Hot Toys ever displayed “stand in” figures before, that was upgraded before going up for order?? That has actually released.

Yup, Ripley was one. They went through several sculpts before the preorder. Although there was also an Aliens version that never made it past the convention display.

The Batman '89 was another 'stand-in' initially. They plopped the original release on the new diorama base for the convention, but when it went up for order the cowl, mouths and cape were all new.

I'd love to stay optimistic and think they will change, improve things for the actual announcement. But these licenses have been abandoned for so long and the Robocop 3 figure exists, so it's really hard to just put faith into it. Will be very glad to be wrong in the future though. I just want great figures Howard, not bases

I wouldn’t necessarily count ripley. Could just me being nitpicky but if a newly crafted sculpt went through several revisions I wouldn’t consider that as a stand in.

My definition of “stand in” is them reusing parts from previous figures that they intend to replace before going up for order.

I wasn’t too aware of the Batman changes, is it an obviously different cape? Additional new mouths or replacing the old mouth plates with new ones?

Even then the upgrades was minimal, maybe Batman only needed minimal changes. Here people are asking for a whole new JH from what was shown.

I think the JH deserves a massive overhaul but is it worth it for it hot toys with much of their audience now being marvel and Star Wars

So this is supposedly a 2.0 of the OG Predator, correct? Calling it Jungle Hunter 2.0 when Hot Toys has never called any of their Predator releases JH had me confused - I have only the "Classic Predator" (MMS162) released under the Predators movie line.

New cape, entirely new cowl sculpt and new mouth plates + great diorama base. Everything that needed or could use an update got updated.

As far as I’m aware hot toys hasn’t called it anything yet. I don’t see a name on or displayed near the figure so I’m assuming the thread is a wip title until this goes up for order.

Hot toys did release a JH hunter back in the day, along side Dutch and Billy. No idea what that was listed as. Maybe just Predator?

Yeah, that one was just Predator. They called it a model kit, but it came fully assembled.

I think this and BD T-800 will be treated like the new Robo 3, mix and match with previous mold and parts, and new base.
I hope I was wrong and we see a proper re-do...
I'm unfortunately thinking the same. Hot Toys just doesn't give a **** about these licenses. Churning out these half assed "2.0" to hold onto the license.

Would love to be wrong though and that these are just placeholders.

And those upgrades was definitely made after being displayed??

Also how well does that 2.0 Batman scale?? I know they made Bale and Afflect taller in the newer releases so wondered in Keaten needed the same treatment.

I don’t collect Marvel, Star Wars of DC so I have no frame of reference.

Yep, in 2022 they just put the original Batman '89 on the new diorama for the convention and updated it before putting it up for order. Doesn't mean that'll be the case this time with Predator but they've done it before.

The 2.0 Batman '89 has to be the same size as the original or else he wouldn't fit in the Batmobile they just reissued.

The fact that this was put out on display means they are probably nowhere near a prototype. If this is what is being released then it's a shame. This is more likely just something to stave off those considering purchasing the Inart offering.
