Yeah, I think there is good reason to believe that this will be a good release (when it finally comes out). Other than being a bit short the Doom figure is very good, and I think they will probably improve upon it with this new figure.

Seems with the announcement tonight, many people aren't aware of this Doom.

I can foresee people boosting the price up for this figure now

It's so weird seeing 1975 Mego Iron-Man is retroactively becoming canon, as apperantly reality and the MCU implodes in on itself.

Not according to people's reactions in the movie thread. They don't understand it and are saying it's desperate and makes no sense.

Whether it makes sense or not, story-wise in a multiverse how much sense does it have to make? It certainly allows for them to pull anything out their @$$.
As far as corporate-money-wise; it certainly makes sense for a studio desperately trying to hang on to a franchise, and it's ticket buying drones, to bring back the guy they will mindlessly cheer for, whether it makes sense or not.

So we get a sassy Dr. Doom in high heals, and likely a minor beauty-scar, which makes him a tortured mess.
