Hereditary is my favorite modern horror movie.

It is “almost” the modern Exorcist in shock value.

I say almost because Exorcist will forever be my favorite horror movie and that movie will never be touched in the shock value it had in the 70s.

The **** Friedkin pulled off in the 70’s was insane and it remains insane today even in this crazy 2024 world.
:yess:

It’s my fav modern horror also… this took you a while to see didn’t it?
Yes, I saw l it in the theater. I thought it was amazing but so unpleasant that I'll never watch it again, lol.

:lol

Sounds about right for you :lol

I know you hate them downers

There is something insanely creepy about the scene where the guy is in the hallway naked and smiling and you barely see him but he comes into frame slowly. The scariest part in the movie for me

**** I hate that thing!

I don't know, I'm not sure I remember it. her head is kind of leaning downward and the creature's mouth is around the neck area. well it looked like the neck.

but it could be directly on the chest. I know there's a picture of it online.
Don’t feel like going to the movie to see this. You got a good movie website? I know you do lol

My son just showed his best friend Aliens. He never saw it before.

They then went to see Romulus. It was my sons second viewing he still said it was no good :lol

His friend… Well he was sort of in shock by the downgrade in quality :lol

He doesn’t even know the other films accept for Alien and Aliens.

I’m starting to think people who liked this film are only in my imagination. Sorry Khev and Crow… you apparently don’t exist :lol

Hollywood Reporter: "What do you think about some people saying that Alien Romulus had too many callbacks?"

James Cameron: "Those people need to REALLY get a life and move out of the basement and meet someone, even moreso than the ones complaining about my recent 4K transfers."

Ouch. :monkey3

A quote coming from the man that has advocated every Terminator iteration since number 2 and now saying that he would never have put guns in his films in retrospect.

Yup, I give a whole lot of credibility to this clown these days. Used to love him, now he's just an egotistical wanker.

He's probably always been an egotistical wanker. We just get to hear about it a lot more these days.

Isn't the premise that humans are genetically engineers? They came to Earth and made us?
That makes no sense since human DNA is closely related to all life on Earth and DNA contains essentially an evolutionary history allowing us to identify which earth beings we are closely related to and roughly when on the evolutionary tree we evolved.

Basically, Ridley would have had to ignore long established science from past several decades to come up with "humans were created by aliens".

The only way Engineers being genetically human and looking human is if they came from Earth. (Hence the design pitch being future space faring humans)

Now, even if, for the sake of argument, we assume that Ridley really intended them to be the creators of humans, there is enough contradictory evidence on screen that it could easily be retconned to make them uplifted humans. Same as how the murals demonstrate Xenos (and Deacon) existed before David created anything
