image.jpgIt arrived yesterday! I haven't opened it yet I'm saving it for Christmas Day ;)
the box is sitting in the corner staring at me.

This looks more and more amazing everything I pop in this thread :rotfl

I've just been opening the Enterbay BD T800 and I've fallen in love with 1/4

Would love to see some pics of Iron Man next to the T800 if any of you have both!

In summary,
Every company has their own definition of 1/4 scale.

Hot Toys internally has many definitions of 1/4 scale throughout the years of making this line.

Anyone who is thinking of buying a 1/4 scale figure needs to be aware that the next 1/4 scale figure may not look right if you place in the same cabinet next to the previous 1/4 figure. If your display consists of placing one 1/4 scale figure per display cube, then the size difference wont be as noticeable between the different 1/4 scale sizes.

It's really a shame because as collectors we are buying into a "scale" format, but these companies dont seem to understand the definition of scale.

I would be interested in the next Interview with Howard Chan for him to answer what does scale mean to them and why has the 1/4 scale size been so different from figure to figure.

The only reason they use "scale" at all is becuase of licensing. Licenses are broke down into different scale or sizes, and regions. There's also engineering and machinery that effects the real world size. Then you have to consider that these are fictional characters so there is no true height. So if it scales to 6 foot tall instead of 6 foot 2 inches...who's to say it's wrong. The height the figures are has to be approved by the licensor as well. To make sure it meets the licensing guidelines.

According to that Marvel height chart IM should be 6'5? If this is like between 19-20 inches tall it's pretty much correct no?

They also list Cap and Thor as being the same but you can clearly see Cap is shorter than Thor in the films [emoji23]

He was asking about the other figures...

Anyway...here's the hot toys 1/4s side by side

Thanks for posting the picture.

From that angle they look like they line up pretty well. I kinda expect IM to be taller given he's in armor. I wonder what the difference looks like at 1/6 between these figures.

I have a DX 12 so I could line it up with my 42/43 and see.

Amazing! Great cases too, do you think Boba is in scale to IM?
Not sure on how tall he was in the films, but seeing as it's their latest QS before IM would be interesting to know.

I watched the OT before seeing FA and he was pretty much the same height as Lando who is shorter than Han so he's about 5'10 ish?

Yeah thanks buddy, the only bit I recall is him stood next to Vader and being a real short ass, but that was Vader after all haha

I can put the dx bats with most the mark armors.. I've got them all.

As for the 1/4s...iron man is taller then the rest. Hard to tell from that pic becuase of the stands and whatnot. But he's the tallest.

Royce thanks for taking so many pictures to show so many different figures spanning across multiple companies.

Either way I will be buying HT 1/4 Mark 43 as he looks amazing.

Do you feel he feels solid as far are weight like the PI does. What I mean is I can take my PI figures and plop them down without any support and they stand on their own.

I guess worst case senerio is just opening him up and place some pennies strategically inside.

Yeah he has good weight and has no problem standing on his own. Of course he is not as heavy as the PI figures but he feels heavier than the HT Boba Fett. Hot Toys usually does a good job of making sure they are balanced. From their 1/4 line, the Endo is the only figure that needs support.
