Yup thats the problem... For something over $500 that should have been done better. The initial prototypes seem to be ok.
The problem always comes when they add articulation to it :slap
Still time for PI to make modifications though

some more detail pictures

They actually look pretty awesome... Except the detail pictures highlight the huge gap in the hip armor! Especially heartbreaker! Mark 42 is the most accurate and proportionate and probably the only one I may get because of it.

Silver Centurion looks really disproportionate to me. I don't know if its the camera angle or not, but he looks very stocky (short and overly muscular) instead of tall, streamlined (lean & balanced). Compared to the HT figure these thighs look huge, the underwear/hips look too large and the waist looks too compact and wide which may be caused by the underwear/hips.

Yes, all their proto right now has large underwear parts & big hips. this applied even to the mark 42 which is supposed not to have underwear in front area if I'm not mistaken.

I agree. For some reason they made all the waist sections too thin and hips too big. Makes the whole thing look cheap.

That's the problems with diecast figures, they need soo much more clearance around joints than plastic figures, HT has it on theirs too. I'd rather get a plastic 1/4 armor

That's a good point. Although hot toys has done a much smoother job of it, and in a smaller scale. I dont understand why pi couldn't do a better job.

They ruined Gemini now, looked better as a statue :lol

These guys are making more Iron Men than Hot Toys, wheres the complaints???

Really like Sneaky's design but die cast ruins the realism as the clearance gaps for joints need to be so big making them look like cosplay suit.
I was loving Sneaky's design until now when I saw those hideous feet. Initially, I thought it was PI's screw-up but the concept art has the same feet. Although, as you mentioned, the clearance on these die-cast figures exaggerates the problem.

Whoa I had no idea they were putting Pepper in there! That's pretty awesome. Hopefully these are rough sculpt and the finals will be nicer.
They better do that.

hot toys look way better in comparison:

Do keep in mind that these were prototypes and didn't have much articulation. Essentially, statues!

Did Hot Toys reveal that they would be doing any of the armors in 1/4 or diecast?
If PI's 1/4 ones are a hit, expect HT to kill them with their own versions.

How come this company can pull off a Pepper Potts sculpt and
Hot Toys can't?
:dunno:slap:gah:
They can pull it off but they won't. They'll release another Mk 42 with the Pepper sculpt. Milk!

So, PI previewed 1/4 Mk 11, Sneaky, Nightclub, Heartbreaker, Python,Hot Rod, Tank, Jack, Blue Steel, Silver Centurion, Red Snapper, Hammerhead, Gemini, Mk 42, WM Mk II, Iron Patriot....whew! That's a lot for a company who's new to the game. The sculpts are good but need some fine tuning to be perfect. The Pepper sculpt is better than what others have tried but the paint app is too soft giving it almost a doll look. I liked the paint on the suits; they have a deep luster but the wonky proportions break the visual flow. They've definitely improved over what they showed last time so it's imperative for them to sort these issues out too. Only time will tell.

They're quite ambitious, that's for sure.
For now, they should just focus on perfecting that 1/4 diecast of the Mk.42, release it to gauge interest/gather feedback, and go from there.

Some comparison pictures of initial plastic prototypes vs recent prototypes (assuming they are all diecast). With the exception of mark 42, all other ones seem to be wider hips and thighs than before. :dunno Hopefully, they can fix those issues before final products. But I'm really just interested and can afford to buy the mark 42.
