Most people can house and display a number of 1/6 vehicles? What utter nonsense.
If you can then great, but that statement is so far off reality your living in another universe my friend.
Most home owners buy a home to live in, with suitable living space ( myself included ), they don't buy homes that have huge rooms set aside for 10 foot long slave ones.
Like I say, if you have the space that's great, and if you have the spare cash to throw thousands at an X wing, then fair play.
But if your in a privileged position of having both, don't act like everyone else is.
This guy gets it.

Good Post.

I think I get what both sides are really saying. Realistically, if you own a home you DO have the space. Houses are big. You TECHNICALLY have the space. The argument that you don't comes from the fact that most men who own homes also have 1. A Wife. 2. Kids. and 3. Restrictions on how much of their home they can use to fill up with collectibles.

Even if your wife is 100 percent down with all your crap, unless you're going to turn your living room into a display area in addition to whatever other room/rooms you have set aside for it, it's illogical. It's not impossible. Your living room COULD be your room with a Millineum Falcon display but people would question your sanity, I guess.

So both sides are right...from a certain point of view.

I have a house and my 3 kids are pretty much grown so I could maybe get away with the Falcon cockpit but that would be it. And by get away with I mean afford and display - my husband however would not be thrilled.

I always love how very real world these threads get.:lol:clap

AT-ST would surely mean the pilot is coming... which would also give hope of a Biker Scout.

Royal Guard before the Emperor. Hopefully we see both, ideally once I have the funds to pay off the 4 OT reveals I want!

Wasn't SSC biker scout pretty good?

Really? Your husband's not a fan of SW or your hobby?

:lol My wife is kinda the same. I mean, she sees how much enjoyment I get out of those damn figures, so she tolerates them. As long as they can be kept kinda out of sight (which means a corner shelf in my office), then okay. But my "corner" has slowly expanded from a small-ish shelving unit (about the same size as a detolf but not a detolf), to a slightly bigger shelf unit, to now a shelf unit twice as wide as before (really only about 30" wide). So I think I've been pushing my luck with her tolerance!

I've been pre-warning her about the possibility of the Falcon, and she just rolls her eyes!

Pictures of your office, please! :exactly:

Unfortunately I haven't had any time to take pictures of my most recent set up. The last thing I posted in my shelves thread was 3 years ago! But you can see the evolution of my collection there, at least up to 2013:

I know I won't have any time this summer, but maybe in the fall I can take new photos and update that thread. There's been plenty of additions!

hahaha it's fun to see how other loose control too :rotfl

I did something similar... started in one corner... I am sticking to that corner. In my case the starting point was an IKEA Billy, a bit roomier... I keep things inside...

I started off small and kinda lost control. I now am way more selective and will sell off items to pay for items I want more. I try to focus on Ford stuff but it is still so easy to veer off and say well Boba Fett and Han go together so obviously I need a life size Fett for my living room. :slap. Oh well I am actually pretty lucky as I still do have way more than I should so someone keeping me in check is a good thing. Now HT please sell the cockpit as my Han really needs it! :rotfl

we all do that to a certain extent. I bought figures that I will not keep in the future... I have to stick to the classics, that is the best way to go. Each one of us, we have "our" classics.

AT-ST is a classic. :rotfl

Most of the ships they could realistically sell I know I can resist. If they actually sold the 1/6 AT-ST that would be tempting though. Any 1/6 beasts however would definitely be mine.

That's a great set-up, Parra! Very classy!

TT Han, I'm focusing on Han as well, along with other Harrison Ford characters. And yes, of course you have to get at least a couple ancillary characters here and there! I'm also debating getting HT's Fett but have held off since I already have Sideshow's. But I've been rationalizing that they are both fairly different looks what with the significantly different paint job he got for Jedi.

You're right that it's incredibly helpful in the long run to have someone keep you in check! I know I would have gone off the deep end if it wasn't for my wife and thinking what she might say if I got X more figures!

And are you serious about the life size Fett?!? If you are, then the Falcon cockpit is practically invisible compared to that!

Have no idea how much this is going to cost, or if I will buy but it should make for a pretty amazing display.

thank you mad, but your studio is boss... :clap

I don't plan on getting too many more figs... upgrade R2, get a Ghostbuster maybe... Wolverine... AT-ST.... shhhhhhhhh! :panic:

No AT-ST for me, I am eager to know if they are making it, but I am sure, it will fall (and hit something/somebody on its way down!).
