That's a great set-up, Parra! Very classy!

TT Han, I'm focusing on Han as well, along with other Harrison Ford characters. And yes, of course you have to get at least a couple ancillary characters here and there! I'm also debating getting HT's Fett but have held off since I already have Sideshow's. But I've been rationalizing that they are both fairly different looks what with the significantly different paint job he got for Jedi.

You're right that it's incredibly helpful in the long run to have someone keep you in check! I know I would have gone off the deep end if it wasn't for my wife and thinking what she might say if I got X more figures!

And are you serious about the life size Fett?!? If you are, then the Falcon cockpit is practically invisible compared to that!
You too.... lol. I was 7 when ANH came out and I have been obsessed with Ford ever since. My walls are covered with him.... yes the Boba was a very weak moment for me. I got a really good deal on a Don Post one many years ago and did not tell my husband until he came home and saw it sitting there. It is funny now but wasn't then. I was going to get the illusive concepts Carbonite to go with him as that item was also being cleared out but after his reaction to Boba I wisely decided against it. My daughter ended up buying me one of those Carbonite wall stickers instead to go with him...lol

I was 5 when ANH came out and I always related better to him than Luke. I've mentioned this before here, but I grew up without a dad, so Solo and Jones were the closest thing I had to a father figure growing up. Very sad and pathetic, I know! :lol Thus my obsession with Mr. Ford.

Holy cow, I don't even know how my wife would react to seeing a full sized character in the house, not to mention the thousands it must have cost! :lol

Sweet that your daughter gave you that wall sticker, kinda like a consolation prize, huh? My wife made me a small sterling silver version (maybe 2") of it from that ice cube mold, and a beach towel with the image printed on it! I was considering getting the Sideshow re-issue of the 1/6 piece, but in light of HT now doing pretty much everything under the sun in SW, I'm going to hold off til they do it.

Yeah never again on surprise life size figures. I am waiting for the HT ESB Fett as well as I don't have a 1/6 Fett and I wanted the complete bounty hunters set up. If the Falcon cockpit is confirmed though I will probably have to forget about the hunters and save for the Falcon as I would rather have that.

I agree. Perhaps a single thread (Hot Toys Star Wars Vehicle Displays) to discuss and post convention pics would be better?

Not sure that these showroom display pieces really need their own threads at this point. :lol Clearly they aren't going to actually sell these.

I think I get what both sides are really saying. Realistically, if you own a home you DO have the space. Houses are big. You TECHNICALLY have the space. The argument that you don't comes from the fact that most men who own homes also have 1. A Wife. 2. Kids. and 3. Restrictions on how much of their home they can use to fill up with collectibles.

Even if your wife is 100 percent down with all your crap, unless you're going to turn your living room into a display area in addition to whatever other room/rooms you have set aside for it, it's illogical. It's not impossible. Your living room COULD be your room with a Millineum Falcon display but people would question your sanity, I guess.

So both sides are right...from a certain point of view.

My wife is surprisingly supportive, mostly because buying a figure means I'm going to create a backdrop for it and she likes me being creative. She likes the art aspect of collecting. I started with a Dewback and we put it on the living room display shelf, then I built a moisture vaporator...since then I've been very selective and kept it to Sandtroopers, Jawas, a single Tusken and of course a couple droids.....that he'd me at bay for a few years until Hot Toys entered into the realm. Now, thanks to Jazzinc I have the Death Star diorama and I've acquired my forts Vader and a choke stormtroopers, which was going to go in the man cave down stairs, but my wife wouldn't have it. She wanted me to keep it in he house, so we rearranged the shelving in our closet and turned it into a display shelf. This caused an entire remodel of our living room and now kitchen and display countertop. Somehow the Death Star Diorama has caused us to look at art differently and it's become more prominent, but still sparse. My future expansions, what ever they may be, will be in the man cave. For me the fun is building dioramas for taking photos. I was 9 in 77 and this collecting bit just brings me back to that time growing up in my little quiet town and to a time in my life where fond feelings of my family mixed all together for a happier time. It's all about nostalgia for me..

I got the AT-AT for Christmas but the best bit was getting the snowspeeder as it was a complete surprise.
I'd fixed up my landspeeder with a piece of string attached to the back and piece of lego as the harpoon[emoji1]

I managed to buy a mint in box snowspeeder in early 90's for £25 but sold it this year to put towards Hot Toys!

Lovely! Thanks for posting. I never had the AT-AT, the Snowspeeder was my sole Hoth vehicle and sat on top of a wardrobe where I made a Hoth base using polystyrene. Great days.

Is the speeder a hot toys version I wonder?

No, SSC Scout and bike.:(

And that ATST looks like it was the one that got mashed by the Ewok logs, and the Empire just repaired it to be a one-seater. Or for the two thinnest ATST pilots in the Empire.:dunno

The Kenner snowspeeder was actually oversized for the figures. They really aren't that huge. It would be a great 1/6 vehicle, as would the landspeeder.

It's a mystery as to why we hear about stuff like 1/6 ATST's and TIE's - which even if made available wouldn't be huge sellers - when stuff like the landspeeder they would sell a ton of and would have lots of display possibilities.

I mean HT makes a Delorean (which I love, but has really only one or two display possibilities) yet not the more iconic landspeeder?

The boy has no patience.

Why doesn't anyone ever want to photograph the little signs and badges that say "not for sale?" And then when you ask Hot Toys about it and they say "this is scratch built, not for production, it will not be for sale" no one ever wants to repost that info.

At least there's been a worthy banning to come out of this thread. :clap
