Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys - IM3 - Hall of Armor (House Party Protocol Ver.) - Spec + Pic
Definitely not bothering with any of these.
Definitely not bothering with any of these.
Definitely not bothering with any of these.
I can see them being useful to store away the new armors, just like the movie, I thought about surrounding the original 7 Bays with these as a possible display idea, but in terms of value I dont see these things being worth it.....
and no clear plastic front is a deal breaker
Now that we know they're styrofoam, I really hope HT did the math on the structural integrity of these things stacked up like that.
If you are going to stack them, i'd put some tape across the tops of the first row before adding the second row.

Not super strong tape though. Wouldn't want to damage the styrofoam
Yeah exactly. If I ever choose to buy hall of armor, it'll be the other ones. It's a cool idea to replicate the movie, but they should've used plastic. I don't want to put my $300 collectibles in styrofoam, lol
The others are definitely overpriced. These styrofoam ones should be like $30 IMOPeople have been complaining about the price of the original WSHOA and you only have to buy 7 of those. A lot of people on this forum have started that those are only worth $60
I'm sure there would be even more complaining if HT made these of plastic and charged a comparable price, considering that some people will want to buy 42 of them.
Personally, it is all going to depend on what the final price for these are. For those who have experience with styrofoam, is there any type of paint that can be used on these? I really just do not like the cheap obviously styrofoam look to them. Could I plasti-dip them maybe? These may be stupid questions, but if these things are priced right I may get some and try to modify them a bit to look a little less cheap.
Anyone else think this has a concrete look. It's almost like they want it to look like they poured concrete to make the hall and then installed the electronics into the concrete. Which the Hot Toys WCHOA replicates nicely.
If you can removed the electronics it would be easy to spray these to get a concrete look.
I also noticed that each unit is separated by a thin vertical section. This will make attaching the units simple since this part could be made of a structural material
It would be nice to know if the layers are separated of if the lower and upper unit share the same structural member in a ceiling/floor arrangement
I can spray any kind of paint with my equipment and there are many that achieve the look of concrete when sprayed.
