this is one of the most nonsensical things I have read this week...

Is because it is, this garbage should be 30 bucks. I ain't complaining, but given the fact that they might release the collection in die cast, styrofoam stacked up that much high would topple. I might get one or two or three, but damn Hot toys just became the Bangdie(bandai) of the high end toy industry.

I don't think so. We've never seen a mark-up like that on any other product (and going by how straight-forward the reviewer was, my feeling is he'd advise in the vid if he got a discounted rate). I can't see even HT wanting to sell these at that price, to be honest. The build quality is so obviously inferior to the originals that the trade off has to be price, or no-one will buy it. Also, Boba's point about the model number is quite convincing to me. Basically just screams that they made a mistake with the label. If these actually go up on Sideshow's site for $130, I'd be astonished.

He does have a good point... but id add that they kept that card with the # and price somewhere for the last year..?

And this is not standard foam. Not standard styrofoam. First, you can't say it's not coated if you don't have one you bought in hand. Your going off a photo on a screen on the Internet.

What do you think it's coated with?

Uh, I took that photo. I'm not going off a photo on a screen on the interwebs, I'm using my own eyes. I've seen styrofoam before. It comes as packaging for the expensive stuff I buy. It's the stuff I throw away in the garbage after I remove the expensive stuff I paid for--not the stuff I keep around.

I wish these would go up for PO so we could see the damn price already. I'm fully expecting these to be in the $80-90 range from SS. If you want Hong Kong prices you'll probably have to buy them in HK. TF EX Joker v2 was $215 in HK if I remember correctly but I can't get it at that price from SS. If I'm right about the mark-up then shipping will put these at around $100. Anywhere near that price point and I'll pass.

I think I'll pay no more than US$40 for such stuff which is made mostly from super cheap material like styrofoam.

In all honesty due to the simplicity of this set up, do not be surprised to see excellent chinese knock offs of this in the near future with the same LED light up features, just cheaper.
