HT is damn smart releasing this way before they dare release the Iron Patriot; with a 4month gap between products people like me are going from Nahhhhhh to Yah Yah YESSSSS.... I admit, i wasn't excited at all, until the in hand pic's came out, now it looks like its going to be one of my top fav figures of this year :)

I wonder if they will release any IM2 stuff with this diecast.

I'd **** myself for a 6 like this.

Don't whinge when your precious die-cast starts flaking paints at the joints, or takes a header into your shelf door and takes out your detolf....
I haven't been an advocate for diecast, whatsoever (aside from Tamashii 3PO -- turned out very nicely, there), but have to say I'm impressed with how HT implemented it, here. They've actually improved the figure, in regards to articulation and durability, as opposed to just metalizing the original plastic design. Only time will tell, but I'm feeling pretty good about the diecast line, now.

PS - Thanks for those fantastic pics, Centrocal.

Avengers 2 is a big reason I'm leaning towards not picking this one up. I want to see what new suit they give him and if it's more true to the Mk1 WM with some really cool features, which'll make this suit that wasn't even shown in IM3 pretty pointless.

I've already got Silver Centurion and Starboost on PO, both of which I like their designs better than WM Mk2 and even for those 2 I'm not 100% sure I want to keep the POs. If Silver Centurion's articulation is anything like this WM, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get that figure.

That's just not going to happen and you know it. haha. No way a 5 pound toy is going to shatter a detolf by falling down.

I've owned a few SOC's which are all diecast and I've never had a problem with paint flaking. Maybe on some cheaper pieces but that just comes down to the QC that Hot Toy's uses.

I couldn't care less if it was in the movie or not, it's a great design. Really doubt any of the new plastic Marks will have the same articulation, too. Can't see plastic joints taking that kind of strain.

AFAIK, War Machine has yet to make an appearance in a Marvel movie outside of the IM series, and with all the different characters and story arcs, it doesn't seem likely he'll break that trend in any meaningful way any time soon.

well we look forward to your impression of the figure in 2016 when it finally ships :wave

Especially considering that they repainted War Machine and turned it into Iron Patriot.

Who even knows if they will keep it as Iron Patriot for the films? Considering how that armor played out in the IM3 storyline, it was pretty much played as a joke and a symbolic irony.

I like Iron Patriot. I guess it's possible WM could be back since WM and IP are not the same suit in the comics. I don't think we'll see either of them in the next Avengers though.

Except for the small fact that Don Cheadle is confirmed for Avengers 2.

Except it wasn't confirmed exactly what he is doing in it. Is he suiting up as IP or WM? Is he being prepped to take over the IM movie franchise as the James Rhodes character? Or is it just a brief cameo with little to no bearing on the story?

AFAIK it's all unknowns to the general public. :dunno

Oh, yeah, HT are all about that quality control.

And if in a few years there are no issues, will you publicly admit you were wrong and embrace diecast at long last? :D
