Some new shots. Honestly looks great in better lighting.
One thing I noticed: This figure has no BD leg pieces. And I don't know if it's possible to have BD in diecast pieces, so, that makes me think that the diecast portion is going to be on its legs only. It'd be almost 40% of the figure, I guess.

I do believe that is the first time that on.cc's photos have been referred to as "better lighting".
People seem pretty damn sure the lower torso is die-cast, because the details are softer. Keep in mind the 40% figure was specifically about Iron Patriot - so this one could have more or less.
If I had to guess, I'd say the die cast parts would be the feet, the knees and nearest parts, the lower torso, and the upper arms. Any swappable parts are plastic.
lol, probably.the 40% is the base
what about coal?
I wouldn't go as far to say they felt "chinsy" but I admit feeling disappointed at that hollow feel you mention, particularly for the price.
I'll pay another 50 bucks or whatever to get some diecast in there.
I don't hate it but I do view it as a gamble I'd ideally rather not take (in regards to paint flaking off a la Captain America's shield) and I question the value of simply adding weight to add weight. People have brought some good points in favour, too (though nothing that couldn't have been done with plastic, i.e., more durable frame, better joints, etc.), so we'll see how they do over time.So much hate for die cast figures
I have read several blanket statements in this and and the IP thread that the paint will not adhere to the metal pieces of these diecast figures as well as it does on plastic and over time it will chip. That may be true with all things being equal but for all we know Hot Toys has developed a special bonding agent that will be applied to the metal piece before the paint is applied allowing it to adhere better to the metal surface.
My point is we don't know what the manufacturing process will be for these figures because Hot Toys hasn't said anything about it as far as I know. Maybe it has more to do with some people being upset because Hot Toys is moving away from full plastic figures and adding metal and increasing prices so they want flame any piece with metal parts. I don't know but I for one will take these comments with a gain of salt at this point because of the lack of any information on how these die-cast pieces will be manufactured,
You don't have to be Nostrodomus to know that these figures will be produced as cheaply as possible, not unlike every other diecast collectible to come from China since the dawn of Chinese diecast.
You can quote me on this--I 100% guarantee that there will be no "undercoating" on the *****+y impure zinc underneath the paint.
Somewhere down the road there will be QC issues associated with this figure, be it the paint, fragile or saggy joints, injection bubbles/marks, etc...
