Its a mistake by Sideshow, they were referring strictly to the accessory pack. You can see in that picture, its the same Mark 42 using the BD parts. Its the same figure.

Well... It's been out for a couple of months already... Why update the preview if it's already out

Why not just remove the preview from the Coming Soon page if it's already out? Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 42 Battle Damaged | Sideshow Collectibles That's what I meant by update if there is no longer going to be a battle damaged version. My bad, I was just trying to see if this was still in the works. Didn't realize that the accessories set, in actuality, is what was being advertised for here.....right?

That's right. A BD Mark XLII is NOT coming, just the Mark XLII with BD pieces that has already been released. HT has moved on to AoU and the only new armors from IM3 it'll do are from the HPP.

No, it's alright. :lol What with Howard's and HT's love of IM, I'm surprised we DIDN'T get a full-fledged, dedicated BD Mark XLII. Probably because there were already a billion other armors from the movie. ;)

Totally gotcha. I swear I'm not normally this slow to catch on. Apparently the holiday has my brain on vacation. :lol
Thanks for the clarification!

I felt the same way when I asked about this a couple weeks ago, screw SSC for deceiving me with their out-dated, incorrect promos.

If HT did release a separate BD Mark 42 I would probably get it if it's not die-cast. I really don't like the way this armor looks and I never have... Honestly it was the ONLY armor I didn't like in Iron Man 3. I like the reverse in mark 43 much better and ordered that immediately. The only reason I would get 42 now is to display it with the custom pepper head, and at the moment that is very low on the priority list and not worth spending the $ for an armor that was nearly useless in the movie.

I don't know why people call this armor "useless". I hear it alot. The mark iv was useless but that seems to be alot of ppl favorite armor. The 42 saved pepper, extracted tony from the mansion, saved 12 people on air force one, use parts of it for the mansion attack. It also saved his life in the fight with killian. The 42 had its uses

I wouldn't call the MkIV useless, just that we never saw it in action. It might be implied that all of the accomplishments that allowed Tony to "privatize world peace" between Iron Man I and II might have been accomplished by the MkIV, since the MkIII was still standing heavily damaged in his Hall of Armors in the movie.

The MkXLII wasn't useless either, it just didn't work as intended. It did work well enough to do all of the things you said. However, of all the "main" armors that saw action, it probably was the weakest performer.

I tried the "landing pose"...

Nice lighting. I don't have the guts to put them in extreme poses in case something breaks. I got my XLII the other week and I finally got round to setting him up with the others.

Nice pics Dave, but now seeing that Mark IV Tony sculpt again, that thing looks dated compared to the new Tony sculpt :lol

Nikon D3300...a christmas present to myself along with the 42. Bransen2099, tell me about it. I'm gonna try and get my hands on the new sculpt if they're not too expensive.
