Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Iron Man 3: Iron Man Mark 42 Diecast Series MMS

There's a big assumption that the BD parts are metal.... We've heard that the IP figure is only about 40% Die Cast pieces... same could be true of Mk 42.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - Iron Man 3: Iron Man Mark 42 Diecast Series MMS

Well.... they can do a third one with Pepper's head and said it is a Rescue Suit Pepper Potts and not a Iron Man....

I totally can see them doing that actually.

I am resisting very very very hard to not buy this (and the BD MK7). I told myself Avengers will be the last, coz when I put the Avengers I have so far up on the shelf, while I admire how nice they look, I also realized that is $1000 right there...

And to dive into IM3 line, each figure is averaging $300... still struggling to justify spending that much on toys... yes, I am using the "it is one figure every few months" reason for the "buy" side debate, but still, in total, when a shelf of figures cost more than 2 months of mortgage, this seems to be a very wrong way to spend money..... even when I can afford it.

Decisions... decisions.....
You can't really view as "Those figures right there cost me $1000."

I can't imagine the hurt other people must feel if they viewed there collection like that :monkey1 People have spent over a good 10k but heck a hobby is a hobby. One expensive one but if you want a figure, work a way to get it or if you're really doubting yourself, hold out until this figures gets some in-hand pictures.

I'm pretty sure OMG's picture will convince you. :panic:

Does that UK price include shipping? OSB has IP for £215 (with £15 shipping) so a delivered price of £230

LOL clicked on the link to mothers basment

Pre-order price of £229 - regular price £349!!!!

Where did they pull £349 from? That's $535 wish people wouldn't list these bogus prices to make you think your getting a deal. £229 is the average UK price. It ain't a discount!

Actually they've been overcharging Iron Patriot, or at least made it more expensive than the regular Marks - the IP bust cost $109.99 but Mark 42 bust cost $94.99, and the Mark 7 $99.99. I feel that they're basing prices based on their estimation of the figure's popularity...and it seems to them that IP will be most sought after amongst all.

Allot of the times i'm convinced UK companies just pull a ridiculously high number out of their arses just to make it look like a saving, Play.com used to be the masters of doing it I think it was the bezerker predator that they had at £300 with an RRP of £450 when places like OSB and FP had him at around £160-£190.

Lol play.com never stopped being the master. I bought the recent alien big chap statue for around £180 back in October, and play.com wanted near £400 for it lol. I think others stores try to be a bit more reasonable on their pricing, while not true to what they should they are independent so they have to make abit of money at the end of the day.

I actually like this better than IP, I don't know why. Probably won't get it though. Hot toys are so damn expensive and unpredictable (or predictable, depending on how you look at it) with their releases, I think the Mark VII and Amazing Spiderman are gonna be my last purchases from them. It is so hard to keep up with them, one minute I see something I want, and the next, HT releases another figure I want. Sometimes I wish I never got into Hot Toys, as much as I hate to admit it.

SO. MANY. IRON MANS... CAN'T. KEEP. UP...

Haha, that's classic. Feel I should remember that scene since I loved TNG back in the day (and the reaction looks so redonkulous), but don't! Perfectly nails a lot peoples' reaction to seeing yet another IM, I bet.

Christ £400!!

and you know that for that price it would have been packed safe and secure inside a black bin liner covered in masking tape and a delivery receipt with the slight chance of some bubble wrap.
